I want a refund.

I want a refund this game looks stunning but loads and plays horrible. Fallout three was one of the best games I have ever payed while vegas is such a horrible let down i actually cried I have been waiting so long to play this game and its just the hugest let down ive ever had gameing wise. the load times take for ever. the glitches dont get me started on them. Was this game ever even play tested. There nothin g that pissed me off or infuriated me more though then leaveing a town to discover boone had disapeared completely. and its not that he was dismissed because it would not let me get a follower then about a half hour ago I come out of the vegas casino to discover that my ede robots gone to. going into buildings and getting stuck in the wall or on some random pile of junk where i have to reset the system getting shot by enemies through the floor. game freezeing for 2 or 3 minutes when ever the mysterious stranger comes out .game freezeing up horribly when i use vats in certain rooms. Its not funny the stuff ive endured trying to get through the game. but the final straw for me was getting to hoover dam and not being able to cross such as when i tried swimming across it theres an invisible wall all the way around blocking your way from climbing up hills any other time you can climb up. I mind you am not even a harsh critic most games amuse me hell it would of been a great game if you actually checked for glitches. in the course of playing this game ive lost three followers just randomly disapearing hell obne of them even had the legendary weapon the chopper equipped so i cant even get that bacck. So as far as im concerned this game should be recalled cause its far from being ready to be played. I feel bad writeing such a nasty letter but something has to be done. I used to adore bethesda.you were amazeing then you released this. elder scrolls oblivion and fall out 3 I had well over 400 hours in each. I reserved the game expecting to be ableto play the game meanwhile i cant even complete one of the main quest missions bye crossing the dam. With this game I can not stress enough how frustrateing the glitches get. Ive explored so much of the game and been to so many places its ridiculous the amount of glitches.

Simple solution to your thread topic. Take it back to the store you bought it from. Or send it back.

Seriously, there will be a patch soon to fix these issues. Again, why are you blaming Bethseda? The ball is in Obsidians park. They developed the game.

I don't nessisarily want a refund, this game is going to be fun I'm sure in a week or so when everything is fixed, AND I WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY THE FILE I'M 27 HOURS IN ON *cough cough, fix this crap guys*

I just wish there was some way I could let them know this isn't okay, like boycotting DLC or some crap. But I don't really think I have toe power to give Bethesda/Obsidian the minor slap in the face they deserve for the minor slap in they face they've given us.

also.. from the wiki.. looks like the canteen does work.. u dont actually activate it

"The canteen essentially stores an infinite source of water, automatically lowering the player's H2O meter on a regular basis, and is useful primarily to ward off dehydration in hardcoe mode, as well as restore a very small amount of health, even when not in hardcoe mode. The canteen can also help with the Achievement/Trophy "hardcoe".

In both hardcoe and casual mode, as long as the canteen is in the player's inventory, the player will periodically receive a message at the top left corner, "You take a sip from your trusty Vault 13 canteen", and the H2O meter will drop. Since H2O is not important in casual, non-hardcoe mode, this may become more annoying than useful.

The canteen seems to trigger the player's drink and subsequent notification when the H2O meter reaches a certain level (something just under 200 where dehydration would set in). However, under certain circumstances - such as sleeping or fast travelling right before the hydration level reaches the trigger point - the player can "jump past" the trigger point and become dehydrated. The canteen will not work again until the player lowers their hydration level below the trigger point using some other means.

There is no way to deliberately force a drink from the canteen. It only works as an automatic hydration source.

There is no player animation associated with drinking from the canteen; the screen notice and H2O meter drop are the only indications it is working. "

This is a joke! The game is amazing I didn't encounter any major glitches up until I lost 14 hours due to none of my 20 saves not loading because DLC isn't available (I'm not starting from scratch either). I seriously hope obsidion/bethesda get sued by all the major companies who are loosing money by selling this game, its about time they got taught a lesson for doing this to their fans, I mean is this anyway to treat us? You have basically robbed me out of 37 pound.

If you purchased this game from amazon.co.uk they will refund you as long as you still have the receipt, they acknowledge this game is defective which means you are entitled to a full cash refund under their T&C.

GoTY edition will be out next year, I think I'll wait another year just to get to play the fully functioning version with all the DLC for a fraction of the price.

Anytime there is a Bethesda game there are bound to be bugs in it. Granted some of the ones this time around are kinda bad but they will probably get around to fixing them. (Considering how many times they updated to get rid of the various duplication glitches in Oblivion)

And I know this may sound like I'm trolling or something but seriously, you cried!?! C'mon man.

This is complete bull [censored]. I tried to return the game at Wal Mart tonight and they wouldn't let me, due to copy right laws. So just so you know, if you try to return your game because...IT DOESN'T WORK....YOU CANT!! Also, Gamestop was willing to give me a whole $20 cash or $25 store credit. Are you FKKKKING KIDDING ME???!!! I just bought this game one week ago, on its RELEASE DATE, for $60. 20 hours into the game, and I can't even load my game. This is ridiculous. By far the worst experience I've had with any video game EVER, and I've been playing games for years. I am so pissed at this company right now. I believe they should recall this product, because it does NOT, work, correctly. I expect my money back from Bethesda. I did not get what I paid for and have lost a lot of respect for them. Morrowind, Oblivion, and even Fallout 3 were fantastic. There is no excuse for this S_H_I_T!!! They need to do something about this RIGHT NOW! Who agrees with me?

I don't think it's unrealistic to start talking about a class action suit. We've clearly been the victims of fraud, among other crimes, on behalf of Bethesda.

I'm "kinda" certain that there is contact information for a refund inside the manual. Typically there is something like that in the EULA. I only ran into one or two serious glitches.

1) Clipped into a wall and got stuck
2) Trying to find out if Geckos count as animals (which they should) and why they continued attacking me after taking the Animal Friend Perk

As for the Invisible Wall issue, that is Obsidian's fault through and through. They did it because followers, NPCs, etc. wouldn't be able to follow you up there. But all they really do is interfere with the game. I'm sorry, but if my object is South East of my position, I should be able to go in a South Eastern direction to get to it. But I can't because of the stupid invisible walls.

I've experienced performance problems, lagging and long load times among other things. Installing the game to the hard drive makes load times alot quicker and actually cut down a major portion of the choppy/lagging issues. It's still there, just not as often and not as bad.

But that unlocked a few unpleasant bugs not seen until I installed the game, like when in first person the gun/character will be out of place on the screen.

In Australia, Bethesda hasn't activated any xbox Pre-Order codes yet (it's only 4 days after I bought the game, no rush)

Cheers Nemt, this isn't all about getting Beths attention but more of just getting the word out there on how they are treating this launch and these are certainly not the only boards where i'm raising my voice on the issue.

The more people I reach with news of this shoddy release the more Beth is likely to feel the results next time they launch a game and that is the best I can hope for at this stage.

I'm hoping that with all the complaints about the invisible walls that they will be able to change it. For me and a lot of other people those were huge screw ups on Obsidian's part.

I really don't think it works like that. Bethesda has released a game they knew was broken, they've ignored >90% of the complaints about it and released what they call a major patch (haven't seen one person report it fixing anything) and are sitting back watching the game sell like crazy. If anything they've learned developer QA is even less important than they thought and we can expect more broken games published by them in the future. It's too late to affect any future releases, they've already found out they can release buggy, broken products and make money.

Yeah, except that only works for one or two more releases and then people stop buying their games, because they svck. Of course, by then you've already dropped almost two hundred dollars on the games and another hundred on DLC and your not getting any of that back.
