A War in Heaven

Completing many quests to acquire Daedric Artifacts, as well as completing the main quest itself, plus a couple of other questlines, seems to put your spirit into a very tight spot...let me list this out.

1) MAIN QUEST - Tsun says he's there to welcome you back to Sovngarde one day, meaning Shor wants your soul on account of all your valorous deeds such as defeating Alduin.
2) LORE - The Dovahkiin has the soul of a dragon, which was a gift from Akatosh, meaning he should have first dibs on your soul.
3) THIEVES GUILD QUESTLINE - Becoming a Nightingale means you pledge your afterlife in service to Nocturnal. Once that is deemed finished, you get to head off to the Evergloam...meaning Nocturnal also wants your soul, even after your service is done.
4) COMPANIONS QUESTLINE - Assuming you didn't cure yourself of Lycanthropy, you will join the rest of the werewolves in Hircine's hunting grounds...meaning Hircine wants your soul too.
5) DAEDRIC ARTIFACTS QUESTLINE - A lot of the Daedric Princes want your soul since you're their champion, and there's always a lot of ominous talk about how they're influencing your future and will be waiting for you...meaning if you become the Oblivion Walker, you've got about 15 to 16 Daedric Princes who want your soul as well.

So my question is...where the hell does your soul go? Kodlak mentions the possibility of a Harrowing of the Hunting Grounds, where the souls of the liberated Companions will raze the realm of Hircine and rescue their werewolf brothers. I'm assuming that in the planes of the Afterlife, it's possible to move from realm to realm and fight the denizens of each realm as well.

Assuming EVEN FURTHER...let's imagine that somehow, with utter disregard for storyline continuity, Akatosh and Shor decimate the Daedric Princes in a war for your soul. Do you then get to choose between the realms of the two divines then? Or would there be another all-out war for your soul :/

I'm in the Dark Brotherhood. I go to serve Sithis, who's older and more powerful than any of them.

Who cares about them, I'd rather become the new 9th Divine.

I assume the Dragonborn is bound by any agreements he's made above all others.

really awesome point... I suppose we're never going to be done meeting the expectations and requirements of the Gods, suppose that means we better figure out how to live forever.

ideas?

No, you only make a contract with Clavicus Vile and Nocturnal. Everything else is either by birth or accident.

Become a God.

That's how the Champion of Cyrodiil may have done it.

And Hircine if you are a werewolf.

This. I'm really hoping to ascend to Aedric godhood in a future expansion. It's really the only way to top Shivering Isles, after all.

And, oh, look: Bethesda very conveniently dropped one of the Nine Divines -- who was once a mortal Dragonborn hero -- from the pantheon. Coincidence?

If the Dragonborn is a werewolf, he/she will go to Hircine's Hunting Grounds.
If not, the Dragonborn will go the Daedric realm of whichever Prince he/she has pledged allegiance to.
If no allegiance is pledged, then the Dragonborn will go to Sovngarde.

Out of all of those, I think your soul would go to Akatosh. He's had dibs since you were born.

Well my Dragonborn is going to the outhouse. Too much cheese and cabbages, I reckon.

I have a further question about this. They say that the dragonborn has the soul of the dragon so does that mean that our soul will take the form of a dragon upon our death?

You can pledge to Meridia too, and I'm pretty sure Molag Bal, if you take the right dialogue paths.

No. You've seen dragon souls leaving their bodies. It's just a bunch of wind and light.

It may be because so many have rights on your soul that they let you to choose. Or they will have a war for it or it maybe also that you will be haunting on the Nirn forever because they never let others to have your soul.

Also because you have a soul of dragon it can be that another Dragonborn slays you and absorbs your soul only to use it for a new shout.

Harrowing of the Hunting Grounds? Ha. And again I say, ha. You think everyone hates being a werewolf?

Sovngarde is for Nords only. Even the other races of man are not permitted entry. As the dragonborn, you necessarily accumulate fragments of Akatosh (ie, Dragonsouls) but there's no evidence that Akatosh has any ability to reform himself like Shor (Lorkhan) has been doing in Sovngarde.

A daedra having a claim to your soul is more of a corruption than a binding legal agreement, and it's that corruption that allows a daedra to claim your soul in death. Further, there's no reason your soul can't split into a dozen different pieces when you die.

And Hircine if you are a werewolf.

Spoiler
Which can be cured.

snip

Akatosh and Shor decimate the Daedric Princes in a war for your soul.

I believe they are the same person.
