HAs anyone found use for the ward absorb perk? I'm building a mage illusionist/assassin. Since uses light armor, I'm not going to invest in alteration for the resists, and I was wondering if wards could be a decent alternative against mages and dragons?
Lesser ward is 100% effective against all dragons breath, including ancient dragons.Being able to keep your wards up longer is allways a good thing. So yeah I think it's a good perk for anyone who uses a lot of wards.
I have it on my character and it is useful in mage fights because your mana bar fills up while you take no damage from the multitude of spells being flung at you. Against just one mage its much less noticeable but you will probably kill a single mage with your own spells long before you run out of mana any way unless your a masochist and cranked your destruction mage up to master.
Since your an illusionist/assassin I don't see why you would need wards at all. If a mage was hostile you could just hit them with calm/fear and then backstab them and never get hit by there spells.

Good point. The perk would be better served in recovery. I was worried about not having any elemental resists since I have no racial bonus.

It's not, ancient dragons will break it in seconds. I'm talking from a master difficulty perspective, but even on adept they will break a 40 magic shield in seconds.
