So I was flaming some new player the other day...

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:06 pm

Ok, I was at school the other day, and this guy who used to love Skyrim has been taking on other peoples opinions. I used to like this guy too.

He said;

'Skyrim is Ok, Oblivion was the best and Morrowind is terrible. In Skyrim, the guilds are broken and the companions, eugh, I would rather die than join them'.

His argument is invalid. He is a noob. He has no taste.

TES army, unite! And yes, this is highly Skyrim related and should not be moved as it' main focus is Skyrim.

h@rdc0r3 735 f4n5 un173!

And he also said' Ask any nerds, they'll all agree with me'. Thus why I'm here.

Oh, yuh, I ultra <3 Oblivion, but saying 'Skyrim is Ok'? Implying it's average? And 'Morrowind is the worst'? I doubt he's ever played Morrowind.

Um ... Ok. Have fun with that.
I love Skyrim and Oblivion, and although I prefer Skyrim, Oblivion is still an amazing game.
Never played Morrowind though...

No need to call upon a 'TES army', you're on a damn Skyrim forum here so I think it's safe to say that most people here support the game.

That's a good point. I think I skimmed over that. Actually I would say about 70 - 75% of this forums hates or wishes Skyrim was drastically different. And the other 25 - 30% has a deeper love and doesn't bother with the negative part of the game.

There's little point in 'flaming some new player" (paraphrase) I doubt flaming is in harmony with the rules, and a rebuke should be reserved for out and out bad behavior. But I like to seperate the behavior from the player- contest the opinion or argument- not the person.

If your point of view is a strong one he will come to it, or not. My oatmeal is better than your porridge doesn't work very well.
There's too much flaming going on around here. It makes it hard to talk to anybody.

The attitude expressed in the opening post is exactly why I do not play MMOs.

You cannot argue with him. It is only his opinion. Tell him your opinion and see if he tries to argue with you. Only then do you have a chance to win.

Or state something obvious, like "Skyrim is the future and Oblivion is the past. Fus-Ro-Da!!", or say "Watch where you point with your knee. There is an arrow in it!"

i only like the quests in OB because OB has more faction quest. But i hate the OB dungeons.
Skyrim? I love every part of it, especially dungeons. Though i think the cities are a bit smaller than OB...
Morrowind beats em all nuf said

but we are all human beings, and we each have our own perspective. U cant blame him for saying what he thinks.

The tale of Vvardenfell is most alluring. Give into the temptation, and temptation shall reward. Khajiit knows best.
