Is anyone else experiencing way too many random vampire attack encounters? They're depopulating the already middling population of Skyrim at an alarming rate. Half the time I don't even get the chance to save the townsfolk who died because they're dead and the vampires are long gone before I even realize there's been an attack. I've entered cities I haven't been too in ages to find people missing, and their urns in the Halls of the Dead. And yet there are no NPCs to replace them!

I'm fairly certain this isn't a glitch but a staggeringly poor intentional element of gameplay, which wouldn't be so bad if vampire attacks only happened nearby giving the player the opportunity to save the victims, and if Skyrim actually had a population larger than that of the average podunk town in the sticks, nowhere.

This needs to be fixed immediately because it actually, legitimately, ruins the game.

To start, I like your reference at the end there. I'm having about the same problem. Just about everytime I go into a town or village, a group of at least three or more vampires show up. I've only lost a few citizens, but that is most likely just because I paralyze the vampires before they can do anything to damaging. It does still seem like Skyrim is getting overrun with the blasted things. Either that, or I'm just entirely unlucky to keep showing up wherever they are. :3

Exactly. Just earlier today I walked from Wolfskull Cave to Dragonsbridge and ran into THREE separate groups of vampires. One right outside the cave, one by Meridia's Shrine, and the other halfway to Dragonsbridge. Not to mention when you're a high level, the spawning vamps are high levels and they're usually difficult if not impossible for the average townsperson to destory. I'm getting sick and tired and having to reload saves in order to save NPCs, and I'm especially getting sick of the random deaths I'm not even being given the chance to prevent.
