Way too unbalanced

It is literally impossible to win an offensive game, i don't think i have ever won or seen anyone win a game on offense.

The only mission that I found very hard is the one were security has to hack the missile.

But the reactor mission is WAY too easy for Security. Everything else seems balanced.

Am on PS3, so it's a bit hard to judge, but I don't think it's too unbalanced, personally.

Some missions are a challenge because of terrible friendly AI, but I think they seem pretty fair overall.

Not unbalanced at all, I've won and I've lost on every single one of the maps. (Several times)

There is indeed couple of maps were offensive has it extremely easy. However I've won every map in the game both on offense and defense, so let's not overexaggerate about stuff being impossible.

Terminal first objective for security (hack the mainframe in the little glassroom) can be pretty damn tough if resistance gets their defenses set up there and manage to keep it up. Also if the team has a lot of engineers that can put the place full of turrets, mines and even remove the hackbox, it can be extremely tough. I just came from a game where we won Terminal as Security, although we managed to rush the place with like 3 operatives before the other team got there :D

Reactor first objective for Resistance is sort of the same. It's way too easy to defend as Security. I've only twice managed to hack the ventilation system so far, but I've managed anyways.

Other than these two, I don't have much to complain about.

Lolz, although my lag free competitive experience has been somewhat limited, i will say with all human players w mics, i tend to disagree. A few emplacments like turrets shouldnt really give you trouble once you know where they are and as far as a defensive position in this game, sure it helps but if you move with teamates, its more of a who is bringing more guys and buffing eachother then who is is better position. Now if the defensive team is coordinating as well as you, you may have a point , i really havnt played enough to really make a judgement (which btw niether have you, I used yothink d was easier on bc2 d, after 600+hrs i now think o is easier( jut because fewer people can do more), either way tho its pretty balanced. Give the game so more time. Its often games at differnet skills feel different and im sure this game is no different. Startung out, defense may be far easier but as the game develps and players engage in the possible strategies, sides shift. If your playing w bots ur opinons are void as well. This all being said, i have won games on offense, quite easily actually, not that disproves your point. More testing would need to be done w even skilled teams. If d is owning o everytime u may have a point. A lot of people are saying the be more objective challenge is really hard at above 1 star. And tho i havnt got 3 by myself yet, i didnt really have a problem w 2. Im not saying im a leet dude or anything, but get some skilled players on your offensive team before you start talking about balance. I see a lot of people say the ars are bad, simply because they do not know hpw to burst while coutched, ie effectivly fire the weapom. Ars have far more spread in this game than even bc2, this is to be noted, not instantly marked as imbalance. Once i started using them more, i got far more effective. My final point is we can start talking about balance patches, when the technical aspects of this game have been resolved (360). Im not saying its perfectly balanced but so far ive found no real glaring balance issues (m60 in bc2 launch anyone?), maybe slightly lower the self buff on engies but honestly its too early in my experience to tell. I start playing w a regular group of inteligent mature people having a conversation about it in a lag free enviornment(hopefully muvh better looking too), doing weapon and buff testing on damage accuracy range spread, and doing side testimg ect. Then we can start discussing balance.

Sorry for typos but im on an ipad

You have to use teamwork. I mostly win on offense and defense. Even got the 30% achievement for wining in 20:11 total. Teamwork is key.

Basically, any Operative hacking objective is going to take a lot of teamwork to achieve. An Engineer removing a hackbox will decrease the hack progress faster than an Operative can increase it.

This, I suppose they thought the fact you can move around with the hacking device would balance it a bit, but indeed, currently any hacking objective can be pure hell. Takes too long, too easy to remove.

Yeah, I would think an Engineer and a Hacker would cause the progress to halt until the signal strength was diminished. But if standing next to each other it would be a simple stalemate. Assume 1 Operative vs 1 Engineer.

However, I feel it is decently balanced.

Yeah there are a couple of maps where if one team doesnt know what theyre doing or they have bad players/choices you cant leave the spawn. Ive had this happen on two different maps and its frustrating. It doesnt seem to happen too often but I think we just need people to learn to play as a team and stop just playing medic to get xp faster -.-

This.

Just because you lose once doesn't mean you whine to the forums. I just lost the Resistance Container City - got my ass handed to me with 16 minutes to spare. You know what I did? I played again.

Practice makes perfect, and whiners make good target practice.

LOL. This is my favorite offensive mission, ESPECIALLY when the enemy AI and players are extremely skilled and coordinated.
I've had my most intense Brink battles thus far on this map.
(EDIT: I think I'll make my first Brink upload a gameplay commentary about attacking that map)

Shipyard is the most one-sided map in this game. The Final stretch is without a doubt an easy win for Security. I mean...they pretty much spawn right there.

I know these casual gamers need to leave the real games for the real players, if they had it there way everything would be completed on first attempt... boring.

the one were security have to hack the missle is the tuffest i think......but you just need a team that will have at least three of the class that is required for the objective and two medics that dont rush to the front line..the rest could be a mix for defense.....but its really annoying when your the only operative one a team with one medic and 6 engineers....and i dont even like beenen an operative but i do it to hack and still fail cause sometimes the team isnt worken together with the classes...

This comment rly isnt fair mate, I doubt its really the casual gamers who whine, casual gamers generally don't take the game seriously enough to whine about something like this.

People who claim maps are unbalanced because they don't win them every single time are mostly sore losers.

The only objective that is currently somewhat difficult is the Vent Hacking, and that is only because most people are to dense to realise the lovely entrance beneath the objective, not to mention people are to lazy to open the door to the bridge, if you open that door Its a completly diffrent story.

I've been trying to figure out how to get into that bridge access room, on the Reactor map, without going through all that chaos the Security provides. I think there might be a way to get into one of the windows.

I actually tried opening it on my first times in the map but it was frigging hard to find a way how, especially with all the fighting going on. Today I was defending it and I happened to find my way up there and now I know. It should be pretty doable if you just dash directly there.

Exactly, you should run straight for It at the start of the round, or time you rush to when you know your time is engaging them.
