Weapon Mod Question

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 7:30 pm

So, I'm currently working on a new http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/8931/particlegun.jpg (obviously still a wip). Anyways, a question occurred to me.

From the tutorial I found on the GECK wiki, it said to find a similar gun and swap out the models. But in so doing, how important is it to line up the nods? Do I need to make sure the clip is where the clip node is or that the muzzle is right at the projectile node? Can the nodes be moved, if I need, or will that screw up the animations?

Thanks. I appreciate any answers I might get.

Not sure this thread is really in the right section, but anyway:

You can (and should) move Projectile, ShellCasing and Sighting Nodes around to fit your weapon mesh without issue. Moving other nodes around can change where parts of your weapon display, and how certain animations look. Whether this 'screws up' things or not depends on what you're trying to do. A bit of experimentation here is often the best way to go, if you're unsure.

I wasn't sure either, but I figured it was a modding question...

Anyways, thank you.
