first off let me assure you that I have held off on making a thread till all other tutorials and existing threads had failed me utterly.
I am working on a private vault/museum area based off of Vlindrel Hall and I am working as much as I can within the aesthetic vocabulary of intact dwemer ruins. I have tried (and now failed twice) to make a new weapon rack but not in the way most people mean it. I can make standard racks/bookcases/plaques and shield racks with ease. What is tripping me up is when I try and use a different mesh from the standard red plaque and pegged rack (the bookcases are a separate issue that ive mostly solved.)
For both the rack and the plaque, I made sure my new mesh had the appropriate script attached to it and that it possessed all the same characteristics of the vanilla racks and plaques. The plaque just flat out wouldnt work. The rack works, but not as intended and I need some help figuring out why. I want a rack that appears as the stand for the skull of corruption (I am trying to put together themed but simple displays for each daedric artifact) and while I can get it to work, the skull ends up "mounting" halfway across the room at a 90 degree angle to where it should be.
Now I have 2 potential solutions to my problem, the first is to figure out whats causing this and fix it. The second is to find a way to make the pegged rack invisible but functional ingame so I can just line up where the skull goes on the vanilla rack with the skull of corruption stand.
If anyone has any notions on what I can do to sort this out, I would be much obliged. It has been giving me a headache for a day or so now and I want to get it sorted out. If it helps, I have absolutely zero understanding of papyrus and would prefer a solution that doesnt involve scripting

cheers!
