Weapon Speeds

Post » Thu Jun 07, 2012 10:21 am

I'd just like to clarify what I believe I've seen in other posts:
1. Do greatswords and battleaxes have the same speed?
2. Is dual wielding speed governed by the weapon in the left hand eg. dagger(L)+ sword faster than sword in both hands?
3.Bound swords can't be used with Elemental Fury?
:thanks: !!

From fastest to slowest: daggers, swords, war axes, maces, greatswords, battleaxes, warhammers

However, this is inverse of your chance of staggering the opponent, meaning daggers have a zero percent chance of stunning the oponent on contact, by warhammers have a good chance

Ps, I carry battleaxes and warhammers because of the staggering chance

Also, duel wielding does not increase weapon speed unless you get a perk that increases it by 10 and then 20 percent

this is true unless you find special weapons that bend the rules...theres a uniquely enchanted warhammer that swings as fast as a greatsword if not faster and theres a unique battleaxe that is the slowest weapon in the game which is a shame because its the best looking 1 imo

the longhammer is a special orcish hammer that has an enchantment to make it swing faster then a greatsword but cant be unenchanted.

the rueful axe is a daedric artifact and a reward depending on what you do to complete the quest...the other reward is the masque of clavicus vile

meh, I never saw the longhammer, where do you get it.

I got the rueful axe, but my other weapon for both my characters did more damage, so I did not use it. Also, for my first character, I didnt limit myself to evil things, but if there was a choice, I would choose the good option, for my second character, I was aiming for the Oblivion walker achivement, so I did turn it in, although, if you really liked the rueful axe, you can always stall the quest until you find a better weapon

iirc the longhammer is at the end of liars retreat...wherever it is, its on a table next to a dead body but can end up on the floor and can be hard to find

I do like the look of rueful axe, it fits my barbarians style but is way too weak to be that dam slow to swing...makes a nice wall decoration in my home :)

Yes, that's correct. It's easy to miss. Look on the table around the body carefully.

As for the rueful axe, I can't see passing up the masque of Clavicus Vile. It's too useful.
