Hi. Can someone tell me if they have the same problem and if it's a bug or just something that hasn't been implemented. The weapon plaques (the red things) and the wooden wracks that come with the enchanter's package don't work. Normally you click on them and your currently equipped weapon is mounted on them (an awesome feature of the game by the way), but for some reason mine don't work. Anyone else?

They were bugged, don't know now.

You have to be holding the weapon in your right hand, and some weapons (like the ebony blade) will never stay on the wall for some reason.

They are still bugged and Riften house is the most bugged out house in the game currently that I can tell. I can think of three issues just off the top of my head that are very noticeable

1. If you upgrade your house before talking to the jarl your not recongized as a resident but as a stranger.
2. Mannequins in the basemant usually the one by the wall does not stay where its pedestal is and is in the middle of the room or disappears completely.
3. Some of the storage areas do not store your stuff safely and can disappear while others do keep it safe.

I have this same bug, also it seems if you visit the Riften house before going to see the Jarl to inform her that you bought property, it removes the option and you can't become Thane of the Rift. I have this same issue with Weapons racks in the Whiterun house, apparently this happened because I bought the house before I became Thane. Also, this issue seems to happen with the Solitude and Markarth houses as well, although some of them in Solitude work and some don't. I suspect it has something to do with how (what order??? Or something???) you buy the upgrades. I am not sure exactly what causes it, but I wish they would fix it soon. They are supposed to be releasing a patch this month, that was supposed to fix some of the minor glitches, hopefully it will fix this.

To the people who said they bought their house before talking to the jarl, how do you do that? I didn't think you were allowed to buy a house until you did whatever job the jarl needed and became a thane.

On the contrary, except for Whiterun, you have to complete the jarl's quest AND buy a house before you can become a thane.

The house in Riften has both weapon (4) and shield plaques (1). The one above the fireplace is a shield plaque so if you try to place a weapon there it won't work. In my house I placed a mace, a bow, one greatsword and one longsowrd without problems. Didn't try with daggers: other than that, I never encountered problems with them.

After you complete her quest and help the people in the hold and purchase the house from the steward and DO not talk to the jarl BEFORE upgrading or buying any furniture for your new home you will run into a glitch that the town including the jarl does not recognize you as a citizen of the town. Minor glitch yes but it is still a glitch.
