Well, I just checked FNV's update history, and...

Post » Tue May 10, 2011 5:56 pm

...there's a big glitzy, blingy announcement that someone has launched an FNV disco mod! Wow! Like what I remember of the '70's and '80's doesn't svck enough that I can now actually re-live the 'disco svcks' era in the virtual world of post-apocalyptica...Mmmm....

So, where's the patch?

No griping, no whining, apart from the fact the 'newer' Steam system has gone from a nice simple patch/update list to an advertiser's midnight fantasy...just a simple question, which wouldn't be asked if I hadn't been unwittingly provided with some (for me) useless mod in what should be a simple and service orientated menu page in the server system.

Last patch was 11/10/2010 so it was awhile ago. I just boot up F:NV and then patch DL's automatically

Good question, but we know its coming (as they mentioned another big patch being worked-on).

In this case I have come to love Steam - I don't even have to think about the patches anymore, they just show up - as it should be. :)

You should always think about patches.

Bah, thinking about patches accomplishes nothing - getting mad that they havn't patched a specific bug accomplishes nothing.

The advent of Steam-installed patches is a Good thing, and of course everyone reads about them.

And I havn't found any Cazadores in the game that refused to die - in fact I go out of my way to put them down!

They patched that pretty quickly. Steam is really useful though.

Like i just bought KoTOR this morning for like £1.75.

Kinda wish i had New vegas for the PC, that bug sounded like fun.

I wondering if they're holding off the next patch until the "Dead Money" DLC is released....and making the patch Xbox exclusive.

Wouldn't surprise me...

That reminds me, i have to turn off NV's automatic update. Problem is, i'm using the Readius mod that requires NVSE which will become unusable when the game is updated leaving me unable to access inventory :ahhh: And that fumbling with the last patch is another good reason to let you people test the patch first :D

Well steam does a good job of promoting the games it has available as well as supporting the game they have, just look at the Team Fortress community it's huge not to mention the support it gets.

We all would love to have the promised patch but it will be released when and only when the devs are ready and that's probably a good thing.

Make a copy of the FalloutNV.exe file. I'm pretty sure that is the only one the NVSE is dependent on. Then you can let the patch install, rename the new FalloutNV.exe and replace it with your copy of the current one. That should allow you to keep using NVSE and still get the quest/script fixes.

Maybe copy the launcher as well, just in case.

Next update is being worked on and should be released sometime soon... I'm hoping to have more information for you guys in the near future. While I understand many of you are anxiously awaiting the game update, we still feel it's important to share stuff on the blog that the community is doing. Even if it is disco related :intergalactic:

"Sometime soon" is PR talk for "next 2-4 weeks" :D I remember when Stardock (or was it Ironclad?) gave an exact date for a Sins of a Solar Empire patch which they missed, you can guess what happened: :swear: :flame:

Many thanks Gstaff...

I'm loyally hanging in there for the patch, but it's just somewhat irking to find the update notes having morphed from a nice simple drop down list to a bit of a blogfest (and I'm guessing here, but I'm pretty sure that there are probably mods out there that add more to the game than disco...not saying it's a bad thing, if you are into that sort of thing).

Well, that raises and interesting question: why are you hanging out in a forum for a game you no longer own, replying to a thread about a patch for a game you returned? I don't want to deter you from absolutely fruitless and feckless pursuits or anything, but it sure is odd.

If they made the patch Xbox exclusive it would indeed surprise me, and it would be balls. Patches are simply easier to release on PC, and I doubt they would betray their fans much more than they already have.

I didn't read the whole thread, so if this has been mentioned please forgive me. Steam has started including junk from 3rd-party web sites' RSS feeds in their game update news, so there's been a lot of random, unofficial junk showing up in there. I just ignore it unless I see something interesting. I personally find it distracting and think they should remove it. It's confusing to those that don't immediately realize it's 3rd-party info.
