Well, I'm quitting

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 10:06 pm

So, I'm doing the Mage College quests and I get under Saarthal. I get a long way in, but I can't kill the relentless Draug no matter what I do. I can't fast travel and I can't get back out of the dungeon. So, stuck and can't do anything. I'll go back to MMOs where they're not this hard, but if they are you can get people to help.

Cheers.

Wondering how long it will take before this is locked ...

There are other options - start again, lower the difficulty (just for that draugh), or try different tactics?

you know, in saarthal, your teacher can do all the work for you, and the boss is a special draugr that actually takes a brain to beat (not really since your teacher screams at you to distract the draugr while he drops the shield), either you are a troll (likely) or this game is not as idiot proof as we though

Is it a glitch, or are you just not bringing its health down to zero?

I reccomend loading a save for the former, or turning down the difficulty for the latter.

Have you tried switching to easiest difficulty? It's hard to die after doing that...

In a dungeon once, I fought a dragon priest that wouldn't die either. I kept hitting him, but no damage. The combat graphic stayed up, and he kept floating in the air, breathing, but not attacking ... it wasn't until I used Flames that his health bar went down.

1. pause-select difficulty-reduce-svck it up-un pause...
2. run away till your teacher weakens him
3. alternatly you could beat your self up for having tiny raisin balls...
4. all of the above, you can watch this 'tutorial' below if you like...

Did you have to announce to us that you are leaving?

No offense, nobody cares...

And, please, while your leaving, close the door behind you QUIETLY, so you won't disturb others enjoying Skyrim.

Assuming OP is genuinely serious, a PC user will find that there are backup saves you can restore by poking around folders... Though I fail to see how you would manage not only to turn off autosaves completely, but also screw up your saves so that you are stuck in an impossible fight.

In fact, I think this is a proper punishment for such carelessness, if this actually ever took place.

Judging from the number of replies, you guys seem to care quite a bit.

I've only played one MMO, and it's harder than Skyrim.

Except I almost gave up until I figured out that the symbols to get through the claw doors is on the claws... the first time I tried one, there were murals on the walls that matched the key. I guess that was just by chance, because every other door I had to brute-force crack since I was avoiding spoilers.
