Killing lydia should be task #1 for any self respecting dovakiin.
Pro tip: Mjoll is much cuter and stronger, has more dialogue and is actually enthusiastic about carrying your gear for you. She also doesn't sit in your bedroom eating bread all day.

Every companion I had is either dead or lost somewhere. The last one was Aranea Lenith. I really miss her because she was very good. Somehow I lost her after I killed Astrid. I assume since the people in that shack won't come out, Aranea somehow got stuck somewhere when I woke up in the shack.

I hate it that the companions often die or get lost like this.

I even installed Jango the Sabre Cat Mod. But Jango is also stupid.
He dies too fast and doesn't come up for several rounds. Then disappears, etc. Uninstalled it again.

Dead becauase she was too stupid to get the hell out of my way while I was battling the baddies. Good ridance I say, never wanted her to start with but she was forced upon me and I had no choice but to use her.

Lying face down in a cave in the middle of nowhere. After her first battle. She won't be missed.

I may be old but I'm not dead...well, yet anyway...kinda.

Which is more than I can say for my Lydia. At least on my last 4 chars. I will now kill any Housecarls as a priority to claiming a house.

The guy in Markarth, Argis, is pretty cool. He stays out of my character's way, cooks his own food, doesn't watch me sleep. A definite plus.

If I were my characters, I'd keep Argis, hand over Calder, Iona and Jordis to the Blades and take Lydia up to meet Boethiah. xD

MY Lydia decided to disappear over the weekend.... conquered a fort, all went fine, she was by my side alive and well. Fast traveled back to Windhelm and she'd have none of it. She didn't follow, and I waited days for her, she never showed up, went to look where I last left here and she wasn't there..... so.... yeah, she went her own way. I taught her a lesson by reloading the save about an hour before she decided to rebel. I have a longer leash with me this time.... :bolt:

My character should consider investing in a new pack mule and all... but old habits die hard. Though he's now officially met Mjoll, the cogs in his head are turning. Such a pretty goodie goodie, he's decided he'll marry her one day.... though she doesn't know it yet.

Eira's housecarl is currently camped out in Breezehome, wandering around a house that really is entirely too small for three people and a pony-sized dog. Mostly she sits in the master bedroom and eats bread. Although on those rare occasions when Eira is home, Lydia likes to follow her around the house. Usually she'll stand behind Eira's usual companion/soon to be fiance, Erik the Slayer, and mutter about being her "sword and shield" and "swooooorn to carry" her burdens.

...There's a reason Eira doesn't go home to Whiterun much. I'm afraid Lydia's going to go after Erik with a knife in a jealous rage one of these days.

My current character has no Lydia. She just bought the house in Riften and only goes to Whiterun for shopping needs. She hasn't even set foot into Dragonreach! haha

I thought she was forced upon you by the Yarl of Whiterun for a mission. Maybe I'm wrong, not sure.

Whatever the case, she died and good riddance. If you can't get out my way while I'm killing baddies than that's your own damn fault.
