Please! Dawnguard better not be werebears!

Why Bethesda! Why would two predators even fight each other, other than for food?

Humans vs vampires sound good.

Well, you block out the sun, the plants die, in turn the animals die, thus killing off the were bears. So, it'd be in their best interest to stop the vampires. Or their food source will die out.

The sun in the Elder Scrolls works differently from the sun in real life. Very differently.

Who said they will fight each other? Maybe the Dawngaurd are like the Viglant of Stendarr and fight off all abominations. To my knowledge its not confirmed that the Dawngaurd fight just vamps. maybe theres a side quest that you fight a werebear and you get infected.

I've always wanted Werebears, I'm from the bear clan of the Chippewa Indians in real life, and we have tales from "Many moons ago" of men who were bears. So I've always wanted to be a werebear. But I haven't come across any games that have them yet.
That't another reason why I want werebears, there are many mythologies that involve men turning into bears like the Vikings and Native Americans ect.

So what do plants eat then in the Elder Scrolls? Are there no viatamins and stuff in there? Just magic? Not being sarcastic.

I really want Bethesda to bring Spears to Skyrim. Oh the good old times in Morrowind, with the Spear of Bitter Mercy!

If plants and animals die, so in turn do all races and then where do Vamps get the blood to survive from? I'm not sure Harkon has thought this one through.. :ermm:

Well Harkon did say " to feast on the souls of the living...and the dead."

Better not be in Dawguard e.e
Most predators wont even attack puny looking humans, simply because we advertise ourselves as another predator (forward eyes) and as such, -might- be able to injure them.

You know, it's strange the Dawnguard fight vampires specifically. Why not just use the preexisting Vigilants of Stendarr? They'd fit that bill perfectly.

But no, they added in a new faction, with no professed disdain for anything other than vampirism. That, shall we say, opens up possibilities for entry requirements. And now we've got Beta testers teasing about Werebears.

This could be just a purely aesthetic thing, as a new faction would be refreshing. And the vampire hunter theme isn't unthought of. But then, neither is the whole Lycans vs Vampires thing.

But IF and I mean if they are a part of the Dawnguard, what are they to them? A special weapon (they certainly seem any means necessary types)? Or are the leadership comprised of them? A means to an ends or an ends in itself?

To be honest I think having TWO factions secretly housing lycanthropes to be kinda cheap, but I'm open to the idea. It'd make for an interesting foe to face.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I wouldn't mind werebears (might even become one) but they shouldn't be a portion of the Dawnguard faction.

EDIT: One reason the Dawnguard might want to stop the vampire lord, even if they are lycanthropes. Without the sun, they might become trapped in their beast form, unable to shift back with the sun. (From what we've seen of most lycanthropes in TES, they cannot control their form like the companions (and possibly you) can. They are forced to turn with the phases of the moon.

Well, I remember one of those E3 interviews saying you would have a way to re-become a werewolf if you gave up Lycanthropey after the Companions questline, so, maybe wild werewolves? Which could also mean wild werebears?

The Dawnguard being werebears wouldn't kill me, but I would rather have a separate questline involving werebears.

Obviously bethesda hasn't shown everything yet, and remember how they treated werewolves before Skyrim came out.

Would you settle for a Mahirim (Werewolf) riding a Tribeland Bear? Still pissed that Mahirim didn't get the "Four Legged Sprint" that they were supposed to get.
