Werebears? Where? Bears?! Men that are bears?

Post » Sat Jun 09, 2012 11:38 pm

I read somewhere there were Werebears, weresharks, werewolves, werealigators, weretigers (This one made no sense to me, what do you call a Khajitt weretiger? How do you tell when they changed?)...

It really seemed like someone in the Lore department of Beth, decided to start throwing 'were' before any random animal on their kids Alphabet trainer.

Just wait for the werecougars and the weregerbals... but best be careful, before it becomes wereridiculous.
You forgot wereboars

Why have were-bears when you can have...MANBEARPIG. Half man, half bear, half pig

You call them a weretiger just like everyone else. Werelions (lions, not tigers, dunno where you got tiger from) are actually native to Elsweyr, so it's not really that odd of a concept.

That's actually a valid way of doing it. The word werewolf is composed of two words: "were" which means man and "wolf" which means, well, wolf. Earth has stories of more than just wolf transformations. I've heard of bears, cats, hyenas, dolphins, coyotes, ravens, rats...every culture has at least one in their legends.

Not to forget swans, seals, buffalo etc

Thomas Pynchon's novel Mason and Dixon contains an amusing ancdote about a man who may or may not have been a Were-beaver.

As long as there's a good story around it, I'll be happy. Simply implementing them in the world as extra enemies and being able to contract it through fighting would be stupid imo.

I like the fact there are other werebeasts, instead of only werewolves. The original stories with werewolves included other werebeasts, it's a pretty recent development that only werewolves get the spotlight (often together with vampires, and/or - even worse - as their frigging slaves ... (or as overly dramatic love rivals like in Twilight :/ ).

So, now only the weremammoths are lacking, stampeding everywhere and stomping the dragon vermin into hell.

Any were-form that could fly would be fun and convenient.

If anything, it would make getting up to those dungeons in the mountains easier, without having to go a mile out of the way to find the path, or try to climb up the side of the mountain.

Werevulture's are native to Valenwood. it'd be fair to assume they could fly. also i want to play as all the Were hybrids. that Wereshark would be badass!

I just noticed Black marsh has two native Were hybrids. Werelions and Werecrocodiles. Weresharks have no native sightings apparently so they could also be in Black Marsh. I can't wait for Tes VI Black Marsh.
