What are the chances of them added new houses in the DLC?

Post » Sun Jun 10, 2012 9:40 am

I wouldn't mind seeing some in the other cities. The ones availuable in mods are nice to, but they obviously can't be put in Dawnstar for example.

About 50/50 chance. Either they do or they don't.

I have seen many lists and polls requesting houses. So very likely. Oblivion had one.

Very likely. Pretty much every single major DLC Beth releases gives you a house/place to stay.

If they offer a new house, it will be in the new lands that they put the DLC in. If the DLC takes place in the current map, I don't see them offering a new house. We already have 5 we can buy and a bunch we can use.

I'd be happy if they fixed the current houses. I still can't trigger the quest to get the Windhelm house and I've read of problem bookshelves and weapon racks that still exist. But if they do add a house I'd love it if it's location was outside the cities. A nice country house would be cool.

I think there is a big chance. They already showed that they may let us build houses which, in essence, would give us a new house.

The book shelves and weapons racks are fine to use.

I'd like to see the DLC favor alternative playthroughs, like living in an orc outpost and doing orc quests... perhaps with an alternative Alduin resolution for the main quest. Or a set of quests revolving around the khajiit traders, restoring them to the good graces of the cities one by one. There's so much we can "pretend" to do... it would be great if we could actually accomplish it.

We might even be able to build our own house.

They mention about allowing the player building their own home with a Skeleton Butler. There's a possibility.

I would be happy having a house out in the wilderness somewhere.

I would have to build my house where there are trees. Somewhere in the southeast of the map.

If they're more expansion based than DLC based, chances are we earn a base of operations of sorts upon completion of the expansion. Wouldn't mind having a tower myself, getting up and leaving for adventure by launching yourself off a high point and strutting off casually in front of confused onlookers is always a nice start to the day.

Rather than a new house I would like to see a storage container that doesn't respawn for the new player/character to store things, until they have a house. Somwhere near the gates of Whiterun, make it easy to find. I think it would be more benifical for the players than another house.

I want a craftable/upgradable house which I can build anywhere (within reason) and I can move my followers/wife/children there, oh and it has to have a harvestable garden as well as a stable for my many horses and a forge etc.

If I was able to plot out my land, gather the materials and spend the time, I could quite happily retire somewhere and watch the world go by,

Not sure what you mean by this, like an Orc quest that can only be completed by Orcs? I like the idea of exclusive content to add replay value to trying out new race/class combos but as DLC that would probably be a pretty horrible idea.

I've read on this website and others that some people are still having problems. The only one that I currently have is that one of my book shelves in Rifton won't hold anything. I put things on the shelf, step outside, come back in and they are on the floor. This happens with books and other items that I put up there.

If they do, I hope they have some kind of builkding quest asssociated with them. Like in Morrowind, where you had to wait for it to be built, and in the meantime do various things like recruit guards, etc.

I would like to have a big house in Falkreath, and if there is an option to create a house from scrap, I'd be just very pleased.

Oblivions DLC included the Fighters stronghold, frostcrag spire, vile lair and the goonies hideout (forgot his name), all of these were houses. They were placed in a previously empty place in the wilderness and thus didnt conflict with anything. In addition, the kings of the nine and shivering isles expansions had a house you could own later in a quest. I think its very likely than at least one DLC will be a house.
