What are these thalmor soldiers doing here?

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 7:19 am

We are in Markarth and the Reach has been re-taken by the Stormcloaks for a long time now, so what are these thalmor soldiers doing there? The Thalmor officer is nowhere to be seen though.

When J'derras got to Markarth, to keep his story canon, the player used the console to make them hostile, then the guards killed them. (The Aldmeri Dominion has a bounty on J'derras head just because his family owes some soldiers a debt that they can't pay, so they're trying to slaughter him because they decided to kill off his family. J'derras is the only one remaining.)

I think it′ s quite strange that Markarth is labeled with a red flag on the map...

Red flag means Stormcloak doesn't it? It's normal then.

Red is Imperial, Blue is Stormcloack.
The maps just don't get flags updated every time for some reason.

Okay, maps and the Thalmor should be updated. ;)

Igmund Silver-Blood is allied with the Empire, despite his past violation of the Concordat. He just wants to sell silver.

After a certain quest is completed, Ondolemar is removed not only from Markarth, regardless of who controls it, but from the game, leaving his lieutenants (and dogs!) behind. Thanks for reminding me... I think I'll take a frenzy potion or two to Markarth in the morning, heh-heh.

Spoiler
My last playthrough, I had the peace summit and gave markarth to Ulfric. Then I resumed the civil later (for the imperials) and saw that the thalmor officer was gone, even though Igmund was back as Jarl. The Thalmor soldiers were still there though. So I killed them right in front of the Jarl. Funnily, it was only a 40 bounty. Their lives were cheap. I suggest you do the same.

edit: edited for spoilers

Why? There is no spoiler in the photo. Markarth had been taken by the Stormcloak, the Thalmor soldiers shouldn't be here... and the map should be updated.

I felt immense joy robbing his grave and leaving an old bucket in it.

Same thing happened to me, but my Nord character being so patriotic, I hacked them apart in a heart beat.

I don't see how this thread is a spoiler thread, your logic is flawed.

As luck would have it, the Companion's got a job to track down and kill an escaped criminal in Markarth. So I went there, found him, and he immediately attacked a guard. Also involved were the two smelter workers, as well as half the archers in town. I just stood back and watched. To my surprise, the two Thalmor guards showed up and joined the fray. I think the criminal must've been a leveled NPC, because he chopped them down in no time. So I never had to use a frenzy potion on them. In the end, several guards and both smelter workers were dead. It was that annoying Vigilant that downed the desperado. He used a shock spell that must've lasted half a minute!

Never heard of the civil war before? It's not difficult to imagine what the civil war on the Stormcloak side would mean: retaking each important city in the country.

Its still a spoiler, and you have to presume people who havent yet started the game will be using this forum.

If you assumed that, then any mention of anything becomes a spoiler. I think mentioning early and obvious consequences of the civil war plotline doesn't qualify.
