What are you doing to kill time until 11-11-11?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 6:33 pm

i'm going to kill time itself so i can control it

You can't kill intangible, artificial constructs, to do so would be to remove it from everybody who has ever experienced it's mind...

Reading Aristotle, teaching, drinking, and playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which really makes me want to attempt a stealth character for Skyrim (something I've never done in a TES game).

Let's see...tonight I got the Great Welkynd Stone for Martin and died a lot doing it. I strongly dislike Dread Zombies. It's good practice for Skyrim where I'll be dying a lot too. :D I've been trying different defensive and offensive combinations with weapons and spells that might be more like Skyrim and I think the practice has been helpful. I never tried everything in Oblivion and I still keep seeing new things. Ok, have to run. Now Modryn Oreyn wants to talk to me about something at his house. See you all later.

Checking the forum every 30 minutes to see if Bethesda said "***** it, release the game world-wide."

In-between, playing a little Rift and a lot of a D3/LOD mod I picked up a long time ago. If you're interested, there's a mod out for D3/LOD that gives you a community chest that all characters can access and put stuff in (almost unlimited number of save pages), and you can reset your points from frost to fire or whatever you need to beat a boss that may be immune to one or the other (if you're a spellcaster). Handy gadget lol.

Drinking coffee, sleeping, checking the forum if Bethesday said "****it, ..... "

Oh well, maybe tomorrow.

Working.

Actually, I'm on holiday just now, but being that I have a life with "stuff" just generally happening it in, getting time to pass quickly isn't too much of an issue. It'll be more of an issue finding time to play Skyrim when I actually get it.

"Kill time you say ? Well, I suppose in a good 24 hours now I will be killing time in more than a metaphorical sense."

*unsheathes his wallet and yells Nordic gibberish at the frightened store clerks*

"I'M COMING FOR YOU ALDUIN!"

Now all there is to do is wait... and be vigilant for spot thieves in the upcoming line.

Homework/Study. I'm going to be picking mine up on Sunday no pre-order, because no matter how anticipated a game is, they always have extra PC versions of any game.

My calendar has doctor visit for the son, community meeting, and on release day, a horticultural club's screening of a movie.
We'll get round to Skyrim sometime, sooner or later.

Again, "kill time?" Like, try to waste time for a video game? Can I just have some of yours, then, 'cuz I don't have nearly enough and life is surprisingly short.

I'll have the game tonight. Midnight release. Can't wait to admire my Alduin statue.

It will be an all nighter.

Write angry letters to a PC store for still not having shipped the last parts for my rig and continually changing the mobo's ETA to the store. Seriously, it was 7/11/11 when I ordered it 4/11/11, then they changed it to 9/11/11, 16/11/11, 14/11/11. Now there's nothing, so I hope it's arrived.

Mostly promoting the story linked to in my signature.

Speaking of the story linked to in my signature, since you all seem to be fantasy fans you ought to give it a look and share it with all your friends.

I'm also writing other stories, reading the Wheel of Time and listening to Pantera.

Sometimes threads would get moved from there to here, and it felt like...
Dark valley echoes
A violent battle rages
Somewhere far away
(Skyrim general discussion forum haiku)
I'd be fascinated to see what a chaotic bloodbath it is at the moment, but it is not worth the chance of a single spoiler.
