As a long term tradition, I usually name my male characters either:
Kain or Soul
And, my female characters as:
Kiva or Natalie

On my first play through, I think I'll make a male called Kain Nightwatch, who uses energy weapons and will be...well, I suppose the closest thing that comes to most of my characters is a mechanic
Karma? Good I think. I am usually good first, then take a dip in the darker side.
hardcoe mode? Hell no.

Voted male, but that depends on whether the perks are heavily stacked in one direction or another. Black Widow was much more useful than Lady Killer in Fallout 3. As for the name, Artum Cain and Jialia Doohn are my normals for male/female.

As for karma and all that, I'll be good, mostly, and play on hardcoe.

it will be female <3 and i will call her Bixi as always.

I just can't get into playing female characters.

Their motivations, thought processes and methodologies are completely foreign to me.

Male, I?ll use my internet nickname Remmus, both because I feel it sound snazy and I like roleplaying characters that keep there real name a secret using a nickname.

I?m split between my sneaky rifle using mercenary character and making a big, dumb brute mercenary character with unarmed and big guns, depends if I can let followers do lock picking and trap disarming for me or if it?s like Fallout 3, you do all the skill stuff.

My first character most likely will be female. I started doing that with Oblivion a few years back and haven't hardly looked back.
my current character with Fallout 3 is named Lucy Brown, distant relative to the great Moira, unless I change my mind, I don't see that changing

First playthrough she will likely be a goody two shoes who does no wrong, after that there are no promises.

My first character will be a girl called Zoey as always lol i havnt played a guy charactr fully and seriously since oblivion came out its been female pretty much the whole time, she will probally be good

I usually name my first character, ice625 or ICE. I will be an all out assault guy attacking any enemy in the game. I will try to have bad karma.

My name will be Sgt. Poopy Pants. And i will be a sneaky kind of person who ust goes in, kills everyone and leaves without making a sound. My TAG will be Lockpick, Sneak, and Small guns or Melee( If the Skill Traps is back i will use that in stead). And i will join the NCR and save the tpwn from the Powder Gangers. And i won't play in hardcoe mode first, i will play a few quests and then do hardcoe mode, just to get the feel.

I usually name my characters either Sean (my first name) or Eddie (my middle name). Eventually, once i start making a lot of characters, I name them random, generic, common first names like Frank, Bob, Steve, etc.
I plan on tagging Small Guns, Speech and one other one which I have yet to decide (maybe repair or sneak) and I plan on eventually getting my sneak and lockpick skill up as well. Depending on how much they have tweaked the amount of points you get I might take Energy Weapons later on.
I will be a good guy, save the day, and probably will help NCR (although they are probably the more "Neutral" option)
Although the new melee system sounds pretty cool. I will probably end up making more theme characters than I did in 3. In F3 I pretty much ended up making the same small guns speech character who I got to max out every skill late game and then use what I felt like using. In New Vegas I might actually have to make a Energy Weapon Scientist guy and a Big Guns Explosives guy, which was A) pointless and B) trickier to do in Fallout 3
