I agree completely. In fact, I'm going to run that idea past my wife.

I ran that past my husband and he said ok, as long as he can watch and/or participate.

I want Tsun's armor. But are you looking hard enough? There are plenty of scantily clad armors both in vanilla skyrim and mods for males. I've seen plenty of them. Too bad I play on console.

I like Serana because she's a pureblooded vampire. I like other NPC's too, like Alva and Aela the Huntress. But you are right, to each their own.

It's because she has no interest in marrying you.

Seriously. I bet that's the appeal for many players whether they're conscious of it or not. The rest of the games NPCs will either marry you without hesitation or otherwise can't be approached about the subject at all. Serana's the only NPC who can be approached and will turn you down flat. And people just generally tend to yearn for what they're expressly told they cannot have. It's human nature. If Serana was actually, um... marry-able... she likely wouldn't be getting this much attention.
