What Armor or Weapon Would You Like to See In a DLC?

Post » Wed May 18, 2011 5:24 pm

Anything that is not a reskin of something from the vanilla game or other DLC's. Like to see some new stuff.

Good power armor that isn't butt ugly and a good one shot one kill semi auto upgradeable sniper rifle w/ a good grenade launcher attachment (one that does real damage). And add realistic projectile speeds.

I have to say its ridiculous that the Enclave keeps pumping out Power Armor as right now we have 3 different looking the Enclave use, Advanced Power Armor, Advanced Power Armor Mk. II (retcon in FO3) and Hellfire Armor and the Advanced Power Armor(s) also have a tesla kit upgrade.

Another one? NO, its already Bizaro world thanks to Bethesda that only given TWO new suits to the Enclave but also set the USA with just two suits, the T-45d and the T-51b ... the game might be a sandbox but please stop using it as a litter box, enough is enough and it starts to stink.

Untrue, you may want new, cool-looking, and super awesome power armor that makes you even more of a god than you already are. But the thing about power armor is: it has to fit in the story. They can't just pump out armor with no background or anything.
What I'm saying is, they shouldn't add more power armor just because you don't like how the Remnant's PA looks, only because that's how it is in the story.

Eh, this would be the perfect place to add more Power Armor and have it make sense, it's not like there was a lot in NV to choose from. I agree with it having to make sense, but this is the place to do it and have it do just that.
Personally I hate the thought of them adding millions of new robots, but I'll get over it.

It would be cool to see the legendary http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Athena :vaultboy: But I'm not so sure...

I think that they should add new power armor in a new dlc because I feel thats something that New Vegas lacked in.

I never made the thread. Also stop jumping to conclusions that people want PA so they can turn into some sort of god. It's not just about that. It's about the design, and the role playing element. As I will always say, The people on these forums don't speak for everyone who like fallout.

That's usually why people want PA, but hey! You're different. Regardless of what you use the PA for, they can't add it in willy nilly, it has to fit the story.

The game already offers 4 types of Power Armor ... T-46d,T-51b, Advanced Power Armor and Tesla Advanced Power Armor.

As I said Bethesda in their usual display knocked out the entire Pre-War Power Armor Arsenal to just 2 suits, the T-45d and the T-51b ... wanna complain? complain to who the hell decided the Brotherhood was using the T-45d, a armor that was only mentioned in relation to Van Buren.

It makes not much of a sense the T-51b that had its prototype completed just one year before the Great War would have a replacement entering prototype stage just before the Great War, Athena is an incomplete power armor project and Van Buren was never completed, who knows of what might come from it in the end.

Now if Bethesda did not knocked off the 46-50 range it would be one thing but they did and the T-51b simply only started up for a replacement to be in development, even the Enclave still used it in the Oil Rig.

Athena Power Armour will be like a down-graded version of APA, like the pre-war prototype for it... I still want it though.

@Drakon, the Enclave on the ENCLAVE used T-51b as training armour or simply as an alternative to forklift trucks.

It just shows the T-51b was not so obsolete or that the Enclave manufacturing was not fast enough to completely phase out the (now) obsolete T-51b armor were the Mk II was used on mainland operations that carried more danger that being on the Oil Rig, the Advanced Power Armor was in all aspects more capable that the T-51b, the Advanced Power Armor(s) given a +4 strength, the T-51b a +3 strength so there was no point in using the T-51b for "lifting" over the Advanced Power Armor outside availability.

That was another of Fallout 3 problems, they downgraded the Advanced Power Armor Mk.II because they make the Enclave troops the "Goblins" were in FO2 taking on a Enclave Patrol WITHOUT Power Armor was near suicide and also because they made the T-51b a unique reward as the old Mk.II was now the most common available armor they made the T-51b simply better to justify jumping all those hoops, that almost carried over to FO:NV were the T-51b helmet still have the idiotic +1 Cha and the Remnants helmet have the -1 Cha, not to say if the extra 3 points of DT justify the weaker Radiation Resistance and the weaker item HP.

I know the T-51b are Brotherhood maintained suits as the Remnants must have let their suits rust away but still ... one suit can easy be found as the other either requires knowing were it is and you have to fight a lot of Deathclaws for it AND you get a T-51b suit as well for the trouble AND you still have to find its helmet or manage to trigger a side quest with Arcade near the end of the game were you gain one.

I want the mid-west BOS armor, and I want to get tech enhancements to myself that show, on top of that I want the night vision goggles, and/or a patch that allows night vision with my desert ranger combat helm, and my regular ranger combat helm. (and while you at it allow me access to more roofs for good sniper positions, and hilltops, tired of being blocked from getting on top of mts/hills).

This. Ranger helmats are supposed to have nigh vision, and damn the fact I cant reach many high places for sniping pisses me off.

Ghost people hazmat suit please.

Or some saturnite armour.

Crossbow/longbow make them count as melee soun melee characters get a good ranged weapon or something.

I'd like a Medic Power Armor, including the voice!

God I miss that hard-ass drill-sergeant's voice in New Vegas. With wearing the Prototype Medic Power Armor and having Sergeant RL-3 as my companion, I had someone shouting army quotes all the time in FO3. Now the Gutsies are lame with their high-pitched voices, and the only talking armor seems to have Veronica Belmont's voice. Don't get me wrong, I like Veronica Belmont. It's just that the Medic armor used to say some sweet stuff:

"Take some Vitamin-M and get back in the fight you pansy!"

People get addicted and ruin their lives because of Med-X, and he calls it Vitamin-M. So awesome.

Edit: While I'm here. Tunnel Snakes Outfit plz. :ahhh:

Oh well, that may be a far stretch, but at least some neutral black jacket would be cool.

Nerf gun and fuzzy slippers. I'll wear them with my high crit build PJs. I hate having to walk around in my bare feets. I figure if the damn BB gun has a crit damage of 70, then a nerf must have a crit damage of like 1000000000.

-gunny out.

This brings up an excellent point. Make it so the duster can fit over any other armor. Don't tell me it can't be done because there was a mod Oblivion that allowed robes over armor. I miss the way Morrowwind did it allowing the layering of clothes.

Cannot be done.

To start there are far fewer item slots that in Oblivion (I wish people spot using Oblivion as "evidence" of what can or cannot be done) and also you are talking about a mod, Bethesda did not allowed robes over clothing for a very good reason ...Clipping issues.

The charisma thing actually makes some sense. There are old war-time posters all over the ruins of the wasteland showing T-51b suits as stuff worn by heroes. During the Master's attacks, it was people in T-51b that were most commonly seen fighting off the super mutants with some success.

The APA helmet was designed for intimidation, and every time people have encountered APA wearers, it's been a bad thing. It's developed a bad rep on top of the 'let's make it look scary'.

That's actually the T-45d on all of the posters... at least all of the posters shown in Fallout 3 and New Vegas. I think the reason for the charisma boost was because that the T-51b is the most iconic element of Fallout, it's like the Superman suit of the series. It was plastered all over the box of the original game (as one can see from your avatar) and the main menu, and of course it was the original power armor of the franchise (from a development standpoint, obviously the T-45d predates the T-51b in the current lore).

True, but I don't think the charisma penalty makes much sense in the context of Fallout's mechanics. Charisma impacts your ability to intimidate as well, so if anything the Enclave helmets should also boost charisma.
