What do you use when you need to infiltrate and silently take out a dungeon?

Full steel plate, or full orcish, or full deadric. Depends on the character I have going.

The beauty of the sneak skill perks. HA is still viable.

Stark naked as a female Khajiit. If they see me, I go down on all fours and start purring; they just mistake me for stray cat and go about their business.

Light armour as a general rule. As light armour mostly made out of leather and fur, they don't creak and clank like metal.

Generally speaking, I use Linwe's Armor.

It doesn't really take anything special, just a high sneak rating, maybe a few perks in sneak, and if you want apply muffle or invisibility as needed. The special gear is just overkill.

Nightingale set.

Lately though, I have been using the Black Sacrament/Black Tower mod simply because the Unholy version of the Nightingale set looks much nicer and I can put my own enchants on it.

If you're not an expert sneaker yet, you probably won't be able to get right next to an adversary without him noticing you. Archery is a great option if you're starting out. I would use light armor. Of course, don't forget potions and enchantments. They help tremendously.

Using light armor helps, but you can still get by with heavy armor if your sneak skill is high enough and you have a few perks to that effect.

I've been using the Ranger Armor for the Lore Friendly Armor pack. Of course, if I wanted to I could go stark naked!

On my sneaking characters, I've never bothered with switching to specific armor for it - after all, they sneak anytime/anywhere. So, whatever armor they happen to be wearing, is what they sneak in. (Of course, it is generally light armor. The rare HA character I've made doesn't tend to sneak.)

Gutslit uses only some gauntlets. He prefers to wear as little armor as possible. A hood, boots, and a black robe is all he needs.
