There are several gripes about Steam, but I see no real arguments why Steam is bad. Living a rural area, I love the service and the great deals found within.

- I have heard of problems for Offline mode, but it is mostly because the user did not go through the proper procedure to play in offline mode and is it easily rectified.

- I've also heard people don't like the extra software running in the background, but has anyone really had performance issues? I certainly haven't noticed any problems on my average PC.

So have at it, why is it so bad? Please no conspiracy theories, just facts.

I tend to agree with you, and would be interested to know why other people dislike Steam so much as well.
