Oh what I can't wait for...

Well it's certainly been enjoyable reading many people's rage posts over the current state of the game and patch. Some posts have been legit, others needing a healthy dose of software development knowledge before being posted. Either way, it certainly has been fun.

A couple of interesting points. Firstly, publisher and developer are at fault not exclusive to either group. Both have their responsibilities and one way or another the ball was dropped as far as test was concerned. The posts claiming they did no test whatsoever are bogus as they most certainly did but it's difficult to nail down bugs that are not easily reproduced. Now surely there are severals bugs that are easily repro'ed and it is a mystery how these weren't locked down, but to claim they did no test whatsoever is crazy. Secondly, the people demanding compensation are just a sign of how entitled gamers are becoming. Do you honestly believe Bethesda and Obsidian are sitting in their homes snickering and ruffling cash next to their ears? I'm sure every one of them takes pride in their work and surely are not pleased with the bugs that are coming out of the woodwork as that reflects badly upon them.

On another note, patching takes a long time. Yes I understand the arguments that such and such game already has been updated twice in the same space of time, but with the amount of code changes they probably had to make it just makes the chance of regressions even higher and I bet they had many a test pass to ensure they didn't break something else in the process. Admittedly though it is taking awhile for this patch to release but I will say no one was at Microsoft all last week (I work there) as we had heavy snowfall in the Seattle-Redmond area and with Thanksgiving most people just decided to not show up. That surely slowed down the certification process even more. So just remember, they are working on this and are definitely testing the limits of everyone's patience, but they are not sitting on their laurels laughing at you.

And now onto the main point of this post and a switch to light humor. What I can't wait for is when the patch is finally released the posts switch from "I hate Bethesda" to "OMG you didn't fix x issue that I have in my game! WTFBBQ!?" Just watch it'll definitely happen. Oh the entertainment of game forum boards. :)

Have a nice day.

The game should not have been released in the state that it was in. I do not feel comfortable with paying for a game that is this broken, no matter how soon a patch comes out I have already lost 3 weeks of value from the game. It has now been reduced to 50% of the price I paid, and I feel like I have been cheated. I am not able to get a refund as anti pircay laws prevent me from doign so, which is exactly the reason I'm annoyed at having bought it in the first place.

Just as a thought, would it not have been more appropriate to post this as a genuine thread in the general section, rather than flame bait in the error reporting section?
