What 'customs' or traditions do you have in this game

Post » Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:45 am

Me for example, because of my khajiit's backstory, I shoot every person I kill with an arrow to the throat. And for higher enemies such as bandit chiefs, I leave a bottle of skooma on their body...it's all in the backstory so forget it.

What about you guys?

I kill Alik'r.
Sometimes I like to kill Argonians for the hell of it too, for what happened to Morrowind.

I can't complete the Dark Brotherhood quests because the bastard who survives (and is not only essential but pretty much the quest-giver from then on) the Dark Brotherhood nonsense is an Alik'r .... and I will not submit to him. In fact my usual modus operandi after that point is just to attack him for about 20 minutes and then storm off in a huff, never going back.

I hide corpses of people I kill. Other than that, not too much.

My current char, who is an altmer scholar, will never touch a weapon, even to sell. In fact, she really only makes money selling books she finds.

My previous char, a redguard, would never loot a dead body. She viewed contact with the dead as being polluting. She also would take out any undead using bows so she wouldn't have to touch them.

Those are more character quirks than traditions, though :)

I usually strip the bodies of the dead I leave behind. I'll pile their armoir next to them. Sometimes I'll leave a flower on their corpse. If there's two thalmor I'll leave ones hand on the others butt because I'm not that mature.

I always make sure to give the old orcs in the wilderness a worthy death. I don't mean just a brief exchange of blows followed by a finishing move - I mean giving him the long, extensive battle he deserves as a last few minutes of honour before he departs from this world. Sometimes it takes a good five minutes of intense fighting. Raising the difficulty helps, too.

I also have a habit of mindlessly slaughtering any stray hunters but I don't even know what's up with that so I won't bother explaining.

I always hide the bodies of those I slay, and where I'm RPing a Khajiit warrior/assissin I kill every Redguard that I see on the road thats wearing the Hammerfell clothing.I also kill any Thalmor I bump into.

No literal grave robbing (I allow myself to take stuff from the boss chests in barrows with word walls though) and no using icky ingredients for alchemy.

Those... are the Alik'r.
I destroy them wherever I see them... and even give it a try when it turns out they're essential.

Sometimes I hate not having the console...

Wait, why do you so passionately kill the Alik'r? Noticed you said so twice now and can't help but becoming curious.

I never carry potions on me. I don't know why, I did the same thing in Oblivion.

Whenever I am turning the game off for the day I always rotate the camera round and zoom in on my characters face before I save it so it shows up on the save file picture...

Whenever I leave dragonsreach I always jump off the stone steps and try to clear the water but always just miss and end up in the drink ... one day I will make it.

- I don't use fast travel
- all quests are given priority depending on the story. Quest rewards do not matter: even if I REALLY want the artifact, I control myself
- when I go through a settlement, I alway remove my helm or hood. When I spend hours in a city, I change into casual clothes and even if a battle starts for some reason, I don't change back into armor or robes
- when my enemy falls on the floor due to very low health, I cure him. My character rejects to kill them in that state, no matter if he is an enemy
- I never use Dragonrend as my character respects dragons too much to use a Shout created by hate towards dragons... even against Alduin
- I level-up only if there are stars on the sky or if there is a Word Wall in front of me

how funny i tend to have the same habit but for me i get a pleasure out of killing Dunmer, because i can't stand those arrogant slavedriver, everytime i enter windhelm for the 1st time with a new character and i get to hear that dunmer hag questioning me "Do you hate the dunmer?" i comment that literally with her blood on my blade...
