What Dungeon do you remember best in skyrim

Post » Mon Jun 04, 2012 1:22 pm

I was wondering who were you fighting and was it hard or easy.

Mine was The Labyrinthian because of the dragon priests and Alduin.

Kagrenzel. That drop-down into the Falmer cave was terrifying.

Blackreach and pretty much all Dwemer/Falmer caves where the most memorable for me. I've only been in Blackreach once, but everyone who's ever been there will probably tell you it's one of the most fantastic locations in the game. I'm a big fan of Dwemer and Falmer, and therefore most of their ruins have stuck with me, too.

I hate Blackreach. I do the quest and get out of there as quickly as possible.

One of the biggest quests was going into the dungeon in Markarth with the floating mushrooms and all the falmer and dwemer.

i love the bandit/outlaw hideouts the most: that pinewatch bandit sanctuary place... and that grotto from the quest by the bandit argonian in solitude.

Too many to list :)
But for nostalgia reasons my first ever Pinewatch run, that was great.
Halldirs Cairn, first dungeon I did to have a real boss like encounter when I started.

Just did Valthume.
Spoiler
Three Deathlords in one room, not easy when you have loads of magicka and one handed skill, but are unarmoured. Ouch. Thank god I was on Expert, not Master.
Won't forget that in a hurry.

Yngol Barrow. Something mystic about it. I was amazed by all the spirits floating around in that cave, I found it truly... marvelous...

Not mention, I get a badass Ancient Nord Helmet to befit my armor at the end of the dungeon :D

I'll say Blackreach too. For just being a video game that place sure does stress me out.

Labyrinthian too though. That's a helluva place.

Blackreach. Easily. The sheer size of it and the beauty. Plus my wife died there, she was shot in the back by an ebony arrow as we were fighting Frost Trolls (*sheepish grin*) MUST have been some hidden bad guy who ran away fearing my wrath! (*innocent look*)

I "buried" her on a small bit of land over looking a lake underneath giant glowing mushrooms. It was a beautiful scene and she looked very serene laying there... in her bikini.

I forget the name of it fully, it's something green cavern I believe, slightly northwest of solitude, where you find some guys helm. It's not a very large dungeon, but it's one of the most breath taking visuals in the game I've come across so far. Raging snow storms in the mountains, walk into the dungeon, and it's a forest paradise that goes, up, up, and up. Loved it.

and black reach was.....jaw dropping.

Just last night I was in Winterhold and got a bounty to kill a dragon taking hold on the mountain south of Azura's Shrine. I kill the dragon, and as I'm coming down the mountain going south, I see a cave I haven't discovered yet. As I'm climbing down, I'm trying to discover the location at the same time. As soon as I discover "The Sightless Pit," I fall into it on accident.

Don't read on if you haven't been here yet, as it's an epic cave you should go through.

A few steps down, I see a group of slaughtered bandits. I wasn't exactly sober at this point, so everything was really freaking me out. A couple steps and I figure out the enemy: The FALMER! I go on to find a twisted dwemer ruin beneath the mountain, and a strange sanctum to one of their gods or something. I once had like 6 of them in one corridor, so I use my newly learned max slow time shout and hit dual chain lightning so they all dissolve to ash.

Epic cave. When I got out, I was proud.

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

On a visual level so far: Eldergleam Sanctuary, Bloated Man's Grotto and Blackreach.

Bloated Man's Grotto was nice, but there were only bears and a sabre cat in there, so not very challenging and not very big. First time in there was special though. Blackreach really amazed me but was - for me - definitely not the number one dungeon in the game for me, can't really say why.

Overall the best dungeon for me is Irkngthand.
You get the best of everything: an enormous Dwemer ruin, infested with bandits, denizens and traps. Then the lower levels with Falmer, breathtaking views, an amazing ceiling with tons of gems in it and various situations that were unique so far in the game. Think of eight Falmer together taking down a Centurion, small Falmer settlements you can take out in tons of ways, collapsing Dwemer bridges and towers while you pass and a great boss battle at the end in a flooding room with an enormous statue in it. Been awhile since I was there, but by far the best dungeon in the game. Especially the boss battle was almost Uncharted-ish.

shadowgreen Cavern was it's name!

and lol @ anyone who says they all look the same, out of 300+ locations, maybe 10 have seemed similar to me, and that's mainly because they're crypts, and how much different should they look considering it was customary to bury the dead in that manner in this game lore, so certain places should resemble eachother, but seriously, if you think they all kinda look the same, you're blind.

Mzinchaleft was the most memorable dungeon for me. I still visit it often even though there are no enemies in it anymore.
