What else is there to do in skyrim while you wait for dlc?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 10:05 am

Basically I love the game. The fact that I have every main story/guild completed. Every skill at 100. I've made all my own armour and weapons and enchanted them all. I have every achievement on the xbox. I play it on the hardest game setting. but now I just seem to get quests to go to get something or kill a bandit leade. Nothing really meaty. I'll be getting dragons dogma in 2 weeks time that will do me until the dlc lands but what can I do to pass the time until then.

Start a differnt character with a very differnt orientation. I actually play several very different characters at once and it helps keep it fresh.

Start a new character, and explore. Take it slowly - don't bother with getting skills to 100 and getting the best armor. Pick a class - for example, warrior - and stick to it. Explore the world rather than rush from quest to quest. Admire the sights. Get to know the NPCs. Enjoy the game!

I find myself in a similar postion to you  I`m also an xbox user who has unlocked all the achievements and is waiting for Dragons Dogma lol.I`m just messing around with various build ideas at the moment while waiting to see what`s in the DLC.Looks like your character has ran its course.Prepare, plan and try out new build ideas for your next playthrough?

Try to be a thief without ever using a lockpick...It's doable with the Tower stone although certain quests and exploration take a more strategic approach, as you can open only one door every 24 hrs.

Do new characters/playtroughs and explore all the world and the dungeons because there are a lot of secondary quest related to these ,do eventually only the radiant quest that you like - or play/do something else if you're simply bored with the game.

Its not a "work" or a "duty" you know...you have the freedom to leave it when you want  neither you've to ask to someone else "what to do" of your time in my opinion..you've to find yourself your stimulus

Build a pillow fort.

No a Cheese Wedge House. There was a project like that that sprung up a few months back I have no idea what happened, just be careful of wild foxes where you build.

Well I'm on PC so mods always keep the game fresh. I love trying and player made quests and dungeons and one the most recent ones is just immensely hard, it's just a maze filled with tones Dragur Overlords, traps and if you don't keep a torch in your hand the whole time the darkness will kill you slowly. I don't think I'll be playing Skyrim as much these days if it wasn't for mods.

Don't think I'll be starting a new character as I have covered one/two handed combat combined with archery.and sneak attacks with daggers. I've played solo and with a follower. Used conjuration and some destruction magic that to be honest was not much fun. I don't really fancy repeating the same quests and story over again so soon after completing them all. and soon I mean I started skyrim on day 1 back in november. Maybe in a years time but not now. I just fancy doing something different. Like I really enjoyed levelling up my smithing, alchemy and enchanting. Going to different mines getting ore making some daggers and rings then enchanting them. I spent three weeks just levelling those three skills up and I never started them until my character level was about level 50. So it's not like I never played the game in a challenging way. I just want to do something interesting without feeling like I'm the local postman for everyone delivering their letters and packages.

Explore Skyrim and try to find all locations on the skyrim map.
Get 100m in septims.
Own 1 set of each armour in game and max them all out in smith.
Have 1000 of each gem.
Have 1000 of each soul gem filled with its named soul.
Collect 1000 Dragon Bones/Scales.
Have every rare armour/weapons in game.
Go from 1 side of skyrim all the way to the other without fast traveling and see what all you find.

Roleplay,Play around, explore,Kill random thalmor/stormcloak/imperial or just random NPCs you meet on the road :) I am a barbarian... Kill random peeople at the road and take their stuff. Or you could create a new character. I want to explore everything with my main before visiting the new area of the expansion. (if there really is a new area) what am i saying? of course it will :)
i hope..

I'm rebuilding my character, getting him ready for the expansion. I accidentally wiped everything off my X-Box 360 hard drive, so I lost my Skyrim characters (90+ hours in, main quest completed), my Oblivion characters (100+ hours in, main quest completed), as well as the save files for all of my other games. :(

It's not too terribly bad, there were a couple things about my character that I wanted to change, but it still svcks. But I am recreating him and getting him ready for Dawnguard.

You did all four guild quests on one character? I'd struggle to justify one character doing all four, they all lean towards a different style of play.

The db and thieves guild conflict with the companions, can't see how one character could be part of all three.

Do the same thing I do once I've done everything in fallout. Kill EVERYONE....which of course you cant kill 75% of the people on this game. which is lame. But becoming seriously evil individual always follows completion of every open ended RPG

Now you can level up your money making skill in real life so you can build an awesome gaming PC. Then have fun with Skyrim mods and quick load times.

Settle down in a nice town with your wife, pick crops at the local farm, chop wood for the inn and get drunk and relive your adventures at the pub while listening to the bards melody. Retire my friend and enjoy the rest of your days.
So when the DLC finally releases it can give your character a reason to come out of retirement for one more adventure.

What do I do? I have just started a new character, a Breton named Tynon. He is a good character and supports the Imperial Legion in the Civil War when it comes to that.
