What's going on with archery damage?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 12:57 am

It seems the damage of my bow scales to the arrow I'm wearing post 1.5, on my new character made after the patch.

For example if I equip no arrows my elven bow does 29 damage, with iron arrows it does 40 damage (resulting in 48 damage) and with dwarven arrows it does 55 damage (resulting in 69 damage).

So what's going on? I've read that the actual damage done is the same as before, and that it's just listed wrong.

Does anyone know?

There's a thread already discussing archery post 1.5, might want to use that. A mod will probably come and tell you the same.

I had a read of that, it's all about kill cams (I have no problems with) and the bug with the paralyse perk, no one had any explanation of what I'm seeing.

Either way it would't hurt to post about it there, they probably have been looking into archery post 1.5 more than I have. I only use my bow to put arrows in knees.

Yepp, been discussed. I actually went and made myself a less powerful bow to scale back until this is fixed ...

If you know it's been discussed, then you know it's only a tooltip issue.

Are you certain it's just a display issue? Because after 1.5, my old fire bow was giving me one-shot kills on enemies it shouldn't have (and didn't before 1.5).

Either way, i scaled back my bow damage and now i'm back to the same in-game behavior i had before.

Have you proved this? I've compared bows with different arrows and I'm doing a [censored] load more damage when I should be doing +4 more.

Well I haven't noticed any difference in damage, but that could be because I always use a long bow and iron arrows.
