hey everyone, just starting kind of a fun topic/discussion to old us over a little bit longer. Anyway, in the most recent dev diary, when it is talking about the customization (unlock, exp, all that) it shows a resistance gun with the words "Remember P14" spraypainted on it. What could this mean? could it be a mission that, once you complete it, you get that tag for the resistance campaign? or is it a sector of the Ark where resistance soldiers where shot done, kind of like an "Alamo" of sorts, and they use it as theyr rally? or am i just looking too deep into this? what do you think?

It's probably nothing more than a reference to a past event, I doubt it's a mission or something like that.

Games are usually full of small details like that and most of the time it's just a hard working texture artist behind it and no in-game reason.

I liked the Alimo idea. P 14 could mean Port 14 and it may be the first attack by the resistance. It could be their first major lost or their first victory against the security.

Hmm... I guess I've been hiding in the Community Discussion for the past couple of years :hehe: Before that I spent most of my time in the Morrowind boards, then they added the Oblivion boards to this place and I got scared and fled down to the CD. :cold:

P14 is a type of gun isn't it?
"Remember P14" might be the futures way or secret way of saying "don't forget ya gun!" ... to 'fight for the ark' of course

that may be true as well...i havnt heard of a P14 gun, but yeah, that could be it

is "Never Forget P14" like the resistance's slogan now? I'm game, i hope theres an explanation behind it though when the game is released

probably some tragic event where many guests lost their lives. The port 14 thesis could be true and it might be that some accident happened resulting in a large amount of casualties, eg a whole shanty town sinking into the sea. or an explosion in one of the maintainance areas the guests work.

it's reasonable, plus it gives the resistance an emotive from which to act on. :mohawk:

i read somewhere they're putting a 40year background on Brink.
i'd say we're bound to find out what "remember P14" means

if you guys want to see it, its in the newest Dev Diary and when they are showing off the gun customization on the side of the gun (its kind of small) you can see it spray painted with "Never Forget P14" at 2:06

P14 i'm assuming means Port 14 where (this is not fact) the security in the 3-part gameplay vid a while back found that cargo crate

If it's important we'll get an in game explanation. The developers talked about putting a lot of the back story into the art of the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see P14 across a shipping container, ship hull, or dock at some point during a mission or cut scene.

Anyway, I would assume it is either a place or a date.
I'm not going to say it's an event, because that is obvious.

Probably an event including a firing squad...
