I just wish you could enchant more gear with fortify hand to hand :/ rings and gauntlets only is a painful restriction tbh, its fun taking on a centurion barehanded and winning though once you get higher in levels its nearly impossible to go hand to hand due to the limit of damage you can get.

I realize of course they will never add new skill / perk trees for these, but I could definitely see three additional skills having been integrated into the skill system, balanced among the wizard, thief and warrior constellations respectively: Staves, Hand to Hand, and Polearms & Flails.

Polearms & Flails could include whips, etc., plus weapons that require different combat styles than those currently in one- and two-handed (e.g. spears, naginata, bo sticks) and have perks similar to those in other melee skills

Staves perks could unlock enchanting options with found, unenchanted staves (which are in the CK, I believe, or better yet add new staves via DLC that correspond with existing smithing materials / styles), along with opening up melee uses for staves (similar to staves in Morrowind)

Hand-to-Hand... I dunno, some crazy Bruce Lee [censored], I expect. I never RP a monk, but I'm sure others would have some fantastic ideas. And I know Hand-to-Hand is beloved among a lot of TES players. So, why not have the option?

The Hand to Hand skill tree was removed, along with other skills. Other skills that were removed from Skyrim, that were present in Oblivion are:

Armorer
Athletics and Acrobatics
Blade and Blunt
Mercantile
Mysticism
And of course Hand to Hand

There are. skills that are included in Skyrim, although have been simply renamed. Which are:

Marksman (Archery)
Security (Lockpicking)
Spechcraft (Speech)

Although, Hand to Hand has been removed as a "Skill" the player may still use his fists as a weapon but no gain any sort of level by doing so. This removal of the perk can be taken positively or negatively according to different people. Although, the player in Skyrim may still engage in fist fights or "Duals". you may do so by speaking to certain people around skyrim and choosing to do so. The guards will not interfere as long as you keep it fair by not using magic, weapons, etc.
This is another thing that has been added, that might change your mind about the skill being removed.

I think a few new Unarmed Perks/Kill Animations would be a pretty cool addition to Skyrim
That's exactly what we have.

It doesn't have their own perk tree because there isn't much perks to add. Oh sure, you could figure out all kinds of kicks, special moves and such, but their implementation would be quite hard (like, how to kick with no visible legs?)

That said, hand-to-hand is still a viable gameplay, get the perk, get the enchantment and then nothing can stop you.
It even has some neat finishing moves.

Todd Howard said in an interview pre-Skyrim release that Unarmed combat would not get a skill tree, and that is would just be a basic form of attack. Remember, though, there are gloves that increase Unarmed damage, and a Heavy Armor perk that grants bonus unarmed damage based on your gloves' armor. It's not a big deal, especially if you're a Khajit wearing heavy armor with the Fists of Steel perk.
Yes it is if you want to play as monk archetype since it would good to enhance the damage you deal + minimize damage you take and even have perks causes you to stagger, paralyze and knockback enemies, now you play a gimped brawler if you want to play hand to hand combat not a true monk.

Id rank a hand-to-hand tree just above the lockpicking tree

I get so frustrated with these topics.

Just because you don't use it or didn't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't be put back in.

Why have they removed so many skills and totally threw out the Attributes? It doesn't make sense to me. They are just simplifying this the series and catering it to children. The way it's going now it just feels to me it's eventually going to entirely lose the RPG aspect and become another boring FPS Action/Adventure game.
