Because people like you start threads and endlessly talk about it which gives them a ton of publicity. I know it sounds like I'm being harsh to you, but I really mean it. That is the reason they released the article.

Kind of odd, isn't it? Personally, I've got no strong opinion about DS.... doesn't look interesting, not going to bother with it.

Why do people on the forums already have such a strong opinion on Skyrim?

I read someone on here say that, to some people, they take criticism of Skyrim (no matter what it is) as some kind of personal attack. I'm kind of seeing what they meant a little bit.

Most gamers will probably get both. I'll play Skyrim to have fun, Dark Souls to be challenged.

I think multiplayer has a lot to do with this. I've never been into the idea myself, I can't think of anything worse, but each to his own. Why does IGN have such a crap reputation?

By most gamers, I mean the silent majority that do not peruse internet forums like this one.....which tend to be populated by the vocal and opinionated minority.

It's the Elder Scrolls. They are all amazing, yes Oblivion too.
