What kind of game will New Vegas be?

I never played the original point and click games of the Fallout Series, or any other than Diablo. So I was wondering if this new one will be like Fallout 3 or are the developers heading towards a version kinda like the new Diablo. Still point and click but with much better graphics and full 3D

Really? Cool... I like the first and third person style of Fallout 3 but I also like the originals for their own reasons...

We already know it is going to be based on the Fallout 3 Engine, so we can assume it is the same gameplay style as Fallout 3. Since Obsidian includes some of the folks from Fallouts 1 and 2, we can hope that it might have the same awesome depth in conversations that those games had.

I know that it's the same engine and all, but what makes everyone think NV will have the 100% exact same gameplay as FO 3? Especially since all we have is a teaser trailer and a bit vague release date.
Honestly, reading some of Josh's blog posts and knowing a bit from his general attitude towards game making, I wouldn't be surprised if they redo half the SPECIAL system. Then it's not "just like FO 3" anymore.

I guess we will just have to wait and see. I was wondering what kind of game it will be based on what I read about the developers and they were the ones from the first two games. I figured it would be a better version of the old school point and click games but now that it is going to be Third and First person game I think I will like that better...

it wont be anything close to fallout 3 except the engine....... Better Developers, BETTER ANIMATIONS, BETTER PLACES, AND A BETTER GAME OVERALL

All we have are teaser trailers? Have you not seen the piles of gameplay videos?

I beliave it'll be similar to FO3. In some ways, that's it. But at the same time, it'll be done in the spirit of the original games and be better for it :) .
