What little things would you add to the game?

Post » Wed Jul 18, 2012 7:08 am

I love Skyrim, and as a keen Elder scrolls player, I want to know what sort of little things you would add enhance your play experience.

For me I'm quite the content player and for me, Skyrim was perfect. I could do what ever I wanted and where, but there are alot things I think bethesda should've added that they haven't already, and I personally like to see more things to do with the character and combat situations for exp; (This is aimed at console players so you lucky PC moder's, we know what you can do).

1. Sheaths for two handed weapons mounted on the back

2. A mode where if your weapon is sheathed, by pressing the upper left bumper Exc, you could automatically equip your magic spell
without having to take off your weapons, and the same could apply with bows and vise-verser.

3. Just more weapons and armors!

And I forgot to mention, in my profile picture you can see that beastly looking nord having a shield on his back whilst wielding a staff and a sword, well I think you know where I'm going with that....

Thanks for reading.

My list may as well be a novel. I have too many tiny things I want to add. Unarmored perks in the light armor tree, being able to svck blood in combat if you are a vampire, maybe add in panting after a long sprint, being able to use a weapon while jumping, giving the spells their own shout type system in which you can stack three of the same spell tomes to get a stronger spell(it'd be pretty balanced, I think), using leather to make armored clothing, bandits sometimes having glass armor to show that they do raid more than just money...
I'll just leave the short list at that.

Enemies!!!!! And can they fix some more bugs. I also don't need to see mountains on the other side of Skyrim but the water 6ft in front of me is nowhere to be found......anyway, I love the game but I think it was over hyped and they should have taken a few more months with bug tests (especially on the DLC
Spoiler
Like Serana from Dawnguard, she is still crouching and misses every battle because of it grrr
) My list could go on and on but I don't want it to sound to bashful, I love the game and Bethesda.

The ability to set up your own camp with multiple tents.

Agreed, or maybe the ability to create your own home anywhere in the world, in fact there was a mod they had on the Bethesda Game Jam, similar to that.

More weapons including an ability to make mana sabers (i've seen the mods online). More spells. More enemies.

And bastard swords or a better variety of steel weapons.

The ability to hug. Because everyone needs a hug now and then. Be it that relentless Orc down the block, or that Giant up the road.

If I could change one thing, it would be being able to cast like a healing spell in your left hand, while you have a shield equip. Its just a cool mechanic I've been thinking of for some time now. It would raise questions of OPness, but I like it =)

Few spoilers here, maybe. Read with caution.
* An Anti-Thieves Guild questline, for those of us who would rather eradicate them than restore them.
* A revamped Potion Valuation system that ctually makes sense.
* A way to continuously do missions for the Companions without their "furry little problem".
* A way to continue restoring the Baldes without having to turn on the one who helps you fight Alduin.
* More modifications to NPC interations, especially after the civil war is over: half of Skyrim still thinks ol' Ulfric is still alive.
* Khajiit caravan missions because Khajiit are awesome.
* The ability to cancel a quest that you decide you don't want to do.
* And of course, the ability to adopt kids from Honorhall, if you're married and have a home.

Right now the only thing I would want added is an unarmed perk tree with the ability to block while unarmed. Something I thought would have been in from the beginning but was left out somehow.

I forgot, new weapons/combat.

* Flails and/or spiked (not flanged) maces.
* Spiked clubs
* Staffs for additional non-lethal combat option.
* Spears, halberds, and partisans.
* Underwater combat options: non-magical daggers and tridents.
* Horseback fighting (heard rumors Dawnguard made it possible. True?)
* Ability to throw daggers or war axes.

The ability to actually make a difference in the Towns. As an example; The College of Winterhold should have a Quest in collaboration with the Jarl of Winterhold to rebuild the Town. It has been ruined for how many decades? How come I can not buy a Horse / Mule train, drag up sufficient materials and hire others to actually rebuild the Town. How long have the two groups whinged at each other? I'll even pay for it out of my own pockets. It would make the Dragon attacks much more interesting.

Some Role Playing within the world would be really good. Interacting with the World, and Random Dungeons with Liches on the islands would be good. "Lich is regenerating" Oh heck, run.

The ability to set up your own camp with multiple tents.
^This. I want my ranger to be able to set up camp for the night and cook a nice meal over a fire before going to sleep on a bedroll.

Also:
-Potion renaming.
-Unarmed skill and perk tree.
-Some kind of news, like the Black Horse Courier from Oblivion. For example, when I ravage an Imperial fort as a werewolf, I want to know that other people know about it.
-If I'm an Argonian who joins the Stormcloaks, I want to be able to demand that Ulfric lets my people into the city/stops being so racist towards them. (Or a Khajiit, or an Elf, etc.)
-More spells. Namely, an unlock spell.
-Rebuild Winterhold questline.
-Spears and halberds.

EDIT: Oh, I'd also love the ability to play the instruments that I can find. Being able to roleplay as a Bard, going from town to town and making money by place the Lute or Flute or something in a tavern would be fantastic.

I think it would be a cool idea, actually. Instead of buying modest to spectacular houses in each town, you receive a kind of cheesy old manor in Winterhold, and have the option of investing money into restoring the town. By the time you're done, you have smithing, alchemy, and enchanting facilities, spectacular and ornate rooms with huge amounts of storage for books, weapons, and whatever. And you can build a personal guard out of the followers of your choice.

But I guess that would be a big addition, not a little one. :(

Kids,
Customizable weapons
Make your own tent i seen some of you say thats a great idea considering i hunt alot.
More... generic conversation with followers.
Make a mini "hardcoe mode" where you HAVE to sleep and eat now and again... cooking is pointless really and it would help to be married! or just go steal peoples food or fishing!
