What lvl can I start dis-enchanting rings and amulets?

Post » Sat Jun 02, 2012 9:50 am

I can't remember on my last character when I was able to start doing it.

I'm only a level 5 with maybe 20 in enchanting.

No jewelry of any kind showing up at Dragons Reach ( To disenchant )

It's not a perk ? I'm sure I would have seen it ...I just looked. Boy I'd feel like an idiot if it were.

Weapons and armor show up...just no jewelry.

Loaded my lvl 65 in enchanting dude...not a problem.

It's a level thing..huh?

you can disenchant at level 1 with 1 enchant skill. You can't disenchant if you already have a copy of that enchantment, or if its a unique enchantment, example being teh Amulet of Talos or the Gloves that give backstab bonus or the thieves guild armor.

Some items are not disenchantable.

Kind of annoying if you go out to buy stuff for that purpose.

Got it.

They were all unique pieces of jewelry...all pretty sweet for lvl 5.

I was wondering because I knew I did not already have that enchantment stored away ( tried enchanting jewelry..not listed. )

So no dis enchanting named unique items...got it.

Thanks for the heads up...

Divine/daedra artefacts usually. I wish I could disenchant Dawnbreaker, cause while the enchantments useful, the base sword becomes obsolete fast.

Yes I just figured this out as I saved up to buy something I can't dis enchant. Noticed it missing from the list while re-checking jewelry.

Lesson learned.

Dawnbreaker can be improved at a grindstone with an Ebony ingot and the Arcane Smithing perk.
