What exactly are "on" races?

EDIT : Jarls are all Nords, because....well we are in Skyrim. How many Nord Shadowscales do yo think they are?

Not everyone is fluent in English, or maybe someone has a disability, be that physically or mentally. This is something we just don't know.

This is an outrage! The Jarls are all Nords?

Btw...the cat people are called Khajit.

Well, why would there be non-Nordic Jarls in Skyrim?

Jarl is a hereditary title, meaning it's passed from father to son. If the father was Nordic, the son probably will be too (even though race is passed down matrilineally - by the mother - in the TES world). One non-Nord Imperial Jarl would have been explicable, but on the whole a non-Nord Jarl would meet a lot of resistance from the populace. The populace have overturned Jarls in recent Skyrim history (read The Windhelm Letters and Of Crossed Daggers). An Argonian, Orc, or Khajiit one would be virtually guaranteed to be deposed.

the game takes place in Skyrim, nord's land, so no surprise there's no other race jarls.
as for the followers, I have a khajiit companion, not sure if there are argonians tho

You can get Orc and Mer companions, I'm not sure about Khajiit though.

I don't think the OP understands politics. Nords rule Skyrim, so the rulers are Nord.

Something a little stranger to notice would be how many Jarls are single. I haven't seen a Jarl with a husband or wife. They are all widows. I think Winterhold has a couple.

The Nords barely tolerate Human Imperials as leaders, they hardly tolerate the beast races to exist, they resent the Atmer and the rules the Atmer imposed upon them. So, how would they ever accept a beast race to rule them?

Also there are no Khajiits living in Skyrim because they prefer the warm clima in Esweyr or other parts of Tamriel. All Khajiit in Skyrim are Merchants.

 Considering no one gives a [censored], much less a comment, that my character is a khajiit that may be slightly exaggerated. And then some.

There are very few Red Guards as well. I think the Nords have secret shrine meetings where they hold discussions about keeping Skyrim 'pure'. I think joining the Stormcloaks, in a way, is almost like joining the Confederate army.

A non-Nord who proved themselves as "a true Nord in spirit" in the eyes of the people of a hold might be able to assume a Jarlship, but the bar would be significantly higher for someone whose race/province has traditionally had bad relations with the Nords. An Imperial Jarl wouldn't be too much of a stretch, and a Breton Jarl (maybe not in the Reach, for local reasons) isn't beyond imagining, but it would take a truly jaw-dropping demonstration of Nord-in-spirit for an altmer or argonian to pull it off.

Pretty much this. The best you can probably hope for is Thaneship. Earning a nord's respect isn't easy, but even their enemies can do it.(See fall of the snow prince)

It was decided, however, that such was not to be the fate of the Snow Prince. One so mighty in war yet so loved by his kin deserved better. Even in death, even if an enemy of our people.
And so we brought the body of the Snow Prince, wrapped in fine silks, to a freshly dug barrow. The gleaming armor and spear were presented on a pedestal of honor, and the tomb was arrayed with treasures worthy of royalty. All of the mighty chieftains agreed with this course, that the Elf should be so honored.

"Companion" in this case means people who will travel with you. Of those, the two khajiit are J'zargo (a mage at the collect) and Kharjo (a caravan guard).

However, there are a few other non-merchant khajiit besides J'zargo. Khesh the Clean (a worshipper of Peryite); the Solitude lighthouse keeper; several khajiit hunters (involved in Hircine's daedric quest); several khajiit bandits (appearing in various dungeons); three Thalmor agents; and M'aiq (although it would be reasonable to discount him as a proper NPC).

Not everyone is fluent in English, or maybe someone has a disability, be that physically or mentally. This is something we just don't know.

This is a good point to remember. I'm always wanting to say something about people's spelling, bad punctuation and inability to form reasonable sentences, but I never say anything because we have so many people here for whom English is a second language. I know by holding my tongue and refraining from unleashing the sarcasm, a lot of native English speakers with an embarrassing lack of fluency in their mother tongue are getting off easy, but that's better than me unloading a wave of sarcasm on somebody for his English only to learn he's Brazilian or Nigerian or something.

You can get Orc and Mer companions, I'm not sure about Khajiit though.

There's a dark elf among the Companions. Not sure if you can get him to follow you or not; haven't tried.

I don't know if it is exaggerated as your character is pretty much exempt for playability reasons. Just like the Alik'r can't get into Whiterun to look for some woman, but I, and the woman can, as Redguard. Khajiit don't seem to be let into cities much, if at all, and merchant Khajiit are made to camp outside the city walls. But, I, as a Khajiit, can walk right in. And Dark Elves are barely tolerated in Windhelm and are set off in the "Grey Quarter".

So I think CCNA is correct. It is just that if they applied that to character races it wouldn't be much of a game now would it. (unless you only wanted to play nords)

And the priestess of Azura.

It seems the only races the Nords are really ok with are the Redguards and the Bretons, and even then the mongrel Reachmen are hated.
