What questlines have you not finished?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:01 pm

I have yet to even start the companions. Haven't finished thieves guild, or the college of Winterhold. Many players make the mistake of doing a lot of the questlines with only one character this kills replay value. What quest have you guys not finished?

Haven't finished any. Not likely to, either.

I have started all 3 that you mentioned. Not finished any or even close to finishing them. Have to say, so far the Thieves Guild is my favourite.

Finished them all, except for College of Winterhold (buggy quest didn't have the crucial item/character required to progress) <-- intentionally limiting the 'spoiler' effect. And, am currently running around Skyrim finishing off the final Thieves Guild quests.

As for replay value, I think investing over 6 months on a getting a character to L54 would indicate that I'm getting pretty good value for money. Plus, when I eventually want to start a new character (which isn't far off as I have limited interest in most of the radiant quests), it would have been so long ago that I did the quests, that replay value shouldn't be affected...

I haven't finished dark brotherhood, as its moral implications don't really jive with my character.

and I haven't even started the thieves guild.

Other than that, I've done it all.

Replay value is just a catch phrase to me. I tend to play one character for a really long time. I bet I've played a single character in a TES game longer than many people play the entire game with all of their characters.

As for questlines, I still haven't played the Stormcloak side of the Civil War on either of my two characters, and maybe I never will.

I haven't finished the Companions yet, because my 2H Orc character got boring. I might at some point.

I always do as many quests as I want, and it hasn't killed replay value for me at all. Playing with the concrete builds and roles where I can't use Sneak because I'm a Warrior so I can join the Companions and nothing else kills replay value to me because it's pointless restrictions that just aren't fun to me.

To that end I've completed all the questlines several times with various characters, and I'm all the happier for it.

You can finish the TG questline with a pure brute in heavy armor with no difference to doing it with an actual thief

I know. I'm saying that I don't have fun playing with the restrictions I mentioned that other people seem to enjoy. If a game is truly fun and makes me want to replay it several times, then I want to be able to enjoy all the content available that I want, not just one faction's specific questline because it fits an archetype.

I think the Companions quest line is the only one I've completed. Oh, and the Mage College.

Me, neither. All of my current characters are more or less on the "good" side of things. Eventually, I'm going to start a lowlife-type who gets into all kinds of dirty dealing. I always have a hard time playing those kinds of characters and they usually end up on the good side anyway. :P

Usually, in a TES game I'll have one character that does it all, then later on go back and have RP characters that only do specific things based on their personalities. This time, I've decided to RP a little more right from the start, mostly because the choice of who to side with in the Civil War made me think more about my character's personality.

My Dunmer main has finished the Main Quest, the Imperial side of the war, started all of the other faction lines but haven't gotten very far, and completed a whole bunch of little side quests. He's a little more morally ambiguous, so sometimes he'll undertake some less-than-noble quests, but he's still overall a good guy.

My Nord warrior is a more honorable dude, but he's flawed in that he can be overly aggressive and likes to smash things. I started the MQ just so I could go dragon hunting and get some shouts, finished the Companions, sided with the Stormcloaks (but haven't finished yet because of a bug), and did the "alternate" DB quest. Haven't even touched the TG or College.

And so far, the only line my Altmer mage has completed is the College. She's a good person who tires to help others as much as she can, and she's avoiding the whole Civil War mess altogether.

The only questlines I _have_ finished are Companions and Thieves Guild (though I never became the official guildmaster).

I'll soon be done with the main quest. After about 220 hours of playing...

I have invested well over 1200 hrs, in 18 characters. I have yet to complete the MQ past meeting the Graybeards. I have completed the DB, The Companions
Spoiler
only because I had to to cure myself, and that was a rush job as I couldn't get cured fast enough.
and the College.

Depends on my character (RP). On my current warrior I'm not doing thieves or mages college. Still in doubt whether or not I'll go dog with the companions. Oh, and i'm going to destroy the brotherhood. Will do the civil war though.

This one has completed all manner of tasks set before him, and after a full Nirn year still finds many new and curious things!
However he wishes he never listened to the man on the road who told him to join the legion!
This one is happy with the rewards given, and the new names that they call him, however at the end of the silly rebellion, this one now realises that he cannot still tell others that this one is a "true Nord" with a strait face, and the peoples of that cold land still evoke only the eight when they want this one to solve their little problems...
This one thinks Skyrim is a little shallow, just one life to give instead of nine, and he now dreams of anywhere else and elsweyr!

I'm a slow-player, in that I often ignore main and major questlines and do my own thing. I've completed the Companions with my Khajiit Warrior. My Altmer Mage has done a few Winterhold quests. Conan just started the Thieves Guild. I have not yet done any DB quests. I've only done two or three Daedric quests. Only my Khajiit has gone to High Hrothgar. That's the farthest any of my four characters has advanced the MQ.

Skyrim will last me until...the next TES. Lol. To be fair though, I did take a break from January until late April.
