What is OP?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 6:50 am

I am always reading everybody posts and being OP is a huge issue, my question is what makes you OP? WHat is the line you have to cross to be considered OP?

I have NOT done alot of digging into how to make op characters besides the basic stuff people say on here. I have an 1 handed axe that does 103 damage, daedric armor that after i put on is 363 def and the rest is similair but not as up to par per item and level. But is that op or what? I have never seen anybody post where you are labeled strong or thrifty with armor/enchant to where you are over the line and OP...

Please anybody post your opinions and what you think the line is where you start to become OP. Thanks for any help!!

I will give you a reasonable list.

The Overpowered:

1. Abusing and exploiting Smithing to get items to ridiculous levels of power. Make sure that when you brag about it, you try and blame Bethesda for your own actions as it -really- brings out the best aspects of our wonderful community./sarcasm
2. Abusing and exploiting Enchanting to abuse items to ridiculous levels of power. Make sure that when you brag about it, you try and blame Bethesda for your own actions as it -really- brings out the best aspects of our wonderful community./sarcasm
3. Dropping the game to "Novice".

Strong But not Overpowered:

Making a build and playing the way you want. Despite destruction's early game effectiveness it does admittedly lose it at higher levels against higher level things.

You can't be OP in a Single Player game.

LOL. I thought the OP was talking about Original Poster.

Made reading the OP much more entertaining :)

I think those who think they are OP did not play the game at Master difficulty. Even a Timber Wolf is dangerous.

800 defense points and a Daedric sword that does 291... Also i enchanted it so that destruction magic costs nothing... Thats OP but I'm not complaining because I boost up the difficulty and thats how i like to play

the difference between strong and OP is the existence of a challenge. a strong character still faces a challenge every one in a while. an OP one is unkillable.

I think the best way to play it is by spreading your perks and using different tactics. Concentrating on just one or two skills makes them very powerful but I like to sneak into a dungeon, shoot a couple of people with arrows, summon my flame friend, send off a couple of fireballs and then plant my axe in faces while sheild bashing. Sure might not be as powerful but there are plenty of potions and it is just way too much fun
