What's the craziest thing you've done when you were frustrat

Post » Sat Jun 25, 2011 2:24 pm

So yeah, the craziest thing I've ever done when I was frustrated by a game is stab my xbox 360 repeatedly with a sword.

Don't judge me.

I've also done other things to a lesser extent - broken a few controllers and most recently smashed Borderlands about 3 months ago (Attempted soloing Crawmerax about a hundred times before I snapped).

I'm not an angry or competitive person, but when I've been at the same thing for hours on end and I've looked at it every-which way and it still seems nearly impossible even though I'm at max level, have every tool available at my disposal and still can't beat something... it pisses me off so much. I can't understand why developers would include things that seemingly involve 99% luck and 1% skill.

On the occasions where I've gotten mad at a computer game, I've never damaged the computer or any of it's accessories, but when it freezes at an "inopportune" time... I usually end up punching my desk.

So... what's the craziest thing you've done when you were frustrated/angry about a game?

Nothing pisses me off, except video games. I can get a little crazy with the revenge, I won't go into details. :P

I'm finding it very difficult not to. :P

I don't get that frustrated over games, really. Most I'll ever do is swear profusely and maybe lightly punch a pillow or my desk or something.

No idea, but I made a sentry gun on TF2. My two noob in real life friends joined the opposite team. One a heavy and one a medic, they used an uber charge. And no matter what they did couldn't defeat me, even with their entire teams support. I imagine it like this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TIPZr5OrQsM&feature=player_detailpage#t=55s They got stomped so bad half the server quit including them and they never want to play with me again anymore. :(

I threw my controller. That's about it. Of course I'm tempted to throw it at the screen, or kick, or toss my PSP (PS2 is out of reach) across the room. But I restrain myself, because I know it is an action I would regret, especially if I damaged anything. So, when I get frustrated, I just turn off the game and walk away.

EDIT: And I threw NWN2 in the garbage. Probably should have broken the CDs, it might have been more cathartic.

That was so funny. After the uber ran out I sniped the medic. Then the freaking demoman launches 4 grenades and kills you and blows your sentry gun up. Then they both rage quit hahahahaa

Once, I got so frustrated that I
Spoiler
turned off the game!

I know, I should see a doctor about my anger management issues. It's really bad.

Shoved a remote up my ass.

*shudders*

When I was little I got so pissed when I couldn't win Epona in OoT that I broke a controller.
I don't really get frustrated that much with video games anymore though as I'm pretty good at them :P, when I can't beat something or lose really badly I just quit playing and come back to it later.

edit: I don't know if this counts but I just remembered a time a few years back when I was playing golden-eye with a buddy and we got into a huge argument because we kept riddling each others bodies with bullets after they died and trash talking. Thinking back that's actually pretty funny.

I probably would've done the same if it wasn't a digital copy. :P

F-Zero Grand Prix. I managed to cause the contoller a right-sided paralysis. Everything on the left side worked, everything on the right side didn't. If you have played that game you can not judge me :hehe:

I used to destroy a lot of controllers when i was younger, but i've gained some measure of self restraint since then. Nowadays only Megaman 10, Wily's Castle levels causes me to throw the PS3 controller over my shoulder. Damn wireless controllers! :swear:

I've broken two monitors while getting angry at FPS games.

I also threw the cat out of the window in rage once. No harm done though... it landed on the conservatory.

I flinged my controller at the wall when i was playing MW2, because i was on a 24 kill-streak, & somehow commando failed. It slid by his body as if he was made of butter.

Used games as frisbees and repeatedly smashed a controller until it cracked in half and the buttons fell out. My PC gaming is significantly more relaxed, although I'll occasionally slam my desk.
