So I went to use SKSE loader and it told me I didn't have the correct version of Skyrim. I do NOT recall steam updating skyrim after I re-installed it, and I can't get it to do such now, so were can I do it manually?

You can't do it manually, it's downloaded automatically via steam. Right-clic TESV.exe -> Properties -> Details : file version must be 1.3.10.0.

OK, so it is up to date, but then why is SKSE not working, do you have any ideas? I got the download from their site, and installed the files into the Skyrim directory (not the data folder, but the folder containing the data folder)

What message do you get exactly ? Are you sure you have the latest SKSE available ? Did you remove old SKSE files before ?

Oh nevermind, apparently SKSE hasn't been updated for the latest patch with the 4gb thing. The "newest" patch it supports is 1.3.7.0 (06dec11)

Where are you trying to get it from? SKSE was updated within hours of patch 1.3.10

Restart steam, and click play on skyrim a page in online mode. The game will then update if it hasn't already. Each time you try to play a steam game while online it checks to make sure it's up to date. If it isn't it will update, because it won't let you play non updated versions.
