What's the moral of the story?

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 2:46 am

ummm...obviously not, seeing as he's way too easy to kill :toughninja: lol, more like "killing random people isn't as rewarding as what you thought"

He absolutely destroyed me, even in decent armour his .45 and infinite range didn't give me a chance.

Lol, i think it has something to do with sticking to your roots, i mean despite having been to Utah before i don't think the courier has avere stayed among the tribal folk for long, so how did he/she learn how to use weapons like the war club, tomahawk and yao guai fist in the first place?

Answer, they must have some sort of tribal ancestry or there would be a perk/ trait called "tribal knowledge:gain use of tribal weapons like war club, tomahawk and yao guai fist. (Plus the courier is never said to have learned it on his/her travels, in fact it does not say where they learned those skills)

Ok, don't f**k with the godlike courier! I agree with the second part, and so does Follows Chalk's disembodied head, lol.

Sawyer's a little more subtle here than Avellone was in Dead Money, isn't he?
Here's what I think was in his mind:

1) Acts of charity may be costly but redemptive.
2) Everyone has a tribal nature, no matter how civilized.
3) Territory is transient; family is permanent.

In a way, it's the War in miniature --
White Legs = Caesar's legion
Caananites / Dead Horses = NCR
Sorrows = Mojave natives

What's the moral of the story?

Survival never ends. And war...war never changes...

Honest Hearts was a quality DLC, free-roaming, great story, great characters, and left with you a sadness when it was all over.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ppZHcOf7lI.

On the other hand DM was an obomination of a DLC, the only good thing about that story was the rewards.

He certainly wasn't lying when he told me "Make this first shot count. You won't get a second." Even with the small damage reduction in VATS, I lost both my head and my arm in a matter of seconds :sadvaultboy:

The moral I learned is that park rangers don't die ...they only fade away with their clothes but leave their hats.

when people say its a point lookout type of dlc, you need to remember that its obsidian and not bethesda. it'll be point lookout only without full locations, there will just be empty landmarks and docks with map markers on them

OK hitting someone with a club takes no skill. Most humans know they can hurt someone by hitting them with something by age 2 or 3.

Your hand goes under the cut off bear s hand. You swing it cuts people... again no skill needed.

Throwing a tomahawk is they only thing you would need to work at.

Your guy can throw knives in the main game.

There's an overarching theme in Honest Hearts, something that ties the stories of the Survivor, Graham, and Daniel together.

What the hell is it? I can't figure it out lol.

All of them feel they have caused loss or pain to others or themselves one way or another, and all 3 try to make up for it in their own way.

Plus .......... War, War never changes........

Letting go... XD

Actually that's possibly correct. Graham not letting go of his past, The Survivalist not being able to let go his family dying, The White Legs not being able to let go of their aspirations of being in the Legion. and from the looks of OWB, Letting go may be the theme again. Hell, even Ulysses isn't letting go of something, probably. The DLC has one big overarching theme...Letting Go

Don't be a wuss like Daniel.

When you get something you also give something up.

Well in one instance:
Spoiler
The Sorrows reclaimed the Valley but lost their innocence. Meaning ore people might come to discover Zion and want a piece of it and the Sorrows might lose themselves to constant war, They have even from the slides show hostility to the dead horses their allies.

The moral of the story is why should we fix our game for free when we can sell dlc for 9.99 instead?

got me there with the war club but still the courier would not have normally came across them so....and how would he know what to do with the Bear Claw glove in that case, since he/she mostly travels NCR territory and i do not think NCR use Bear gloves and war clubs.

but i still say the moral is sticking to your roots and Courier has some tribal in his/her family as we do not know their background. the use of those, i admit might be common sense but still the courier would still had to have seen the stuff before to understand what they are.

and you still need some understanding of the weapon even if no skill is needed:

Warclub=need to know how had to hit and where to kill someone and not break the club in one hit
Bear fist=most fist weapons you PUNCH with, not swing to cut someone, most likely the courier would try to puncture people.

I don't think its that complicated to learn how to swing a club or the Bear Fist. Hell you do realize you don't even punch with the Yao Guai FIst.......
