What is the mose recommended skin tone for male Dunmer? Scre

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 8:47 am

I decided to break out of my Breton habit for a change and role a Dunmer male.

However, I have not played as a Dark Elf in over 6 years since Oblivion.

Which skin tone is recommended for the best look throughout the game, including the late game?

So far, the only armor and clothing my Dunmer has acquired is basic iron, and basic clothes, being that I am only as far as Whiterun.

I chose the darkest skin tone, because I did not like the typical bluish - grey color.

However, the choice of skin tone has proven to look terrible in iron armor (banded).

Some screenshots of Dunmer creations would be cool, to help inspire me. Thanks!

Mine looks cool so far, but he hasn't put on armor yet, I just finished creating him, but I play on console, no s/s's for me, try using mods they improve character appearance quite a bit it seems, unless ur not into modding

I like putting it right in the middle. Not too light of a gray, but also not too dark.

Really just preference. I'm just glad they don't like look baby Orc's/Smurfs in this game.

The same color as Linwe's armor looks badass.

I am also on console (xbox 360). I had a quick question I was hoping someone could answer. I was told that if you are a dunmer, and you choose the white eyes, that when you become a vampire, there is NO CHANGE to the eye color. They remain white! Is this true?

The eye color slider: All the way to the left. These are white eyes. I really want to see the effect vampirism has on the eyes, so even though they are my favorite looking eyes, I will choose a different color if I need to.

Never knew that, or paid attention to it lol. I know Karliah from the TG questline is the only known Dunmer with PURPLE eyes, and she has dark brown hair instead of black. Wiki goes into some lore saying she's possibly half-Dark Elf.

I'd say her voice makes up for it. I want to marry her so bad, BUT NO, since she's "bound" because of Gallus and all that crap.. you can't.

Oh no, but in 1.5 we can marry Lydia finally! (LAME!)

Bump. Anyone have the answer to the vampire eyes question?

Anyone else choose the darkest skin tone?

Anyone have screenshots of their dunmer?

I usually choose lighter tones for my Dunmer characters. The later ones kind of lose the blueish/greenish hue that I really like.
Anyway, here's my male Dunmer in http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u476/arconacor/TESV2012-03-2114-07-44-17.jpg and http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u476/arconacor/TESV2012-03-2113-44-12-62.jpg. (yay for low-res Whiterun!) He's more of "greenish gray".
My female Dunmer in http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u476/arconacor/TESV2012-04-0315-31-37-77.jpg and http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u476/arconacor/TESV2012-04-0314-08-34-81.jpg, too. She has the light blue tone because she was made to resemble my Oblivion Dunmer character, which had intense blue skin. I tried the best I could with Skyrim's colors and chose this one.

Wow, Arcona, I really like the skin tone of your male.

By the way, thanks allot for helping me out with the long hair question I asked in another thread.

I really want to get an official answer to this vampire eyes question.

I pick the lightest one. It seems to go well with grey hair.

I prefer the pale grey ashen look from Tes 2 Daggerfall which gave them a certain Elric Of Melnibone appearance. Here is my current Dark Elf character Grtih Grot-
