What's the most valuable belonging you've misplaced?

Post » Wed Jun 06, 2012 10:06 am

I'm not sure about any you guys and gals, but when I play Skyrim I am often over-encumbered. I usually stash half of my inventory in random barrels and sacks all around Tamriel hoping I'll remember where I placed them - most of the time I don't.

I just purchased the home in Windhelm (probably the best house there is), and I have spent the last two hours making trips back and forth between all of the places I've stashed my things.

While I've been doing this I have come to the realization that I have lost my full Legendary Dragonscale set I made for Aela way back when. She doesn't seem to have it anymore and I can't find it anywhere else.

What's the most valuable item you've misplaced so far in Skyrim?

The weapon displays are known to "om nom" (so to speak) the weapons and shields you place on them. Chances are, you did place it there, but the broken display destroyed it. :P

I lost a follower the other day, not too big of a deal but the 900 gold I spent investing in her gear is the most I've ever lost.

I watch rare items like crazy and I have kept and hoarded all of my gear and items.
I will comb threw everything and see if its common or rare, I take collecting my items very seriously.

I lost a follower who was packed full of valuable gear I gave her lol

Its ok because I got another follower. Life goes on! lol

I really hate to go back to old save games unless my game crashes or I lose a battle. Other than that mistakes in the game are the way it is because that is how life is like

My wabbajack was misplaced, I accused my companion of taking it. When i checked her inventory and heard her sarcastic "I am sworn to carry your burdens.", I spawned in 10 very angry giants then locked the door.

I later found the Wabbajack in my inventory.

The Savior's Hide armor. Before I decorated my house in Whiterun I placed the armor in a pit in the living room. After I decorated the house I found that there was now a fire pit in that spot, and my Savior's Hide armor was gone. I can only assume that my Savior's Hide armor burned to ashes.

This gave me a good laugh. :P

I wish my PC were able to run Skyrim, you miss out on a lot playing it on console. :(

My level 20 Kajiit Archer. Accidentally deleted him. He was my favorite character too! He even had a pretty good backstory!

Beats me. I don't go digging in my chests of stuff too much.

One thing to keep in mind is the chest bug from Oblivion is still with us. If you put too many things in a chest the list won't display them all. They are still there, but they won't appear until you remove some other things.

Ah, good old Lydia, i can be getting ready to assault a giant and she's right there, then when i'm attacking she's gone... lost. if i win she comes trotting up about 5 minutes later... though i must say any more i go with the archer wood elf from riverwood, he keeps up and is useful :P

I have never misplaced items. That is only for people who need quest items stuck in their inventories. Because they aren't swift enough to find safe places to store stuff. I only store things in containers I know are safe. This is the exact reason I have always hated respawning containers. With all the gold you can make in this game, There is no need for it. It would also make players go out and actually have to find or buy certain things without just running through a city looting containers every time they respawn.
