Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 4:15 pm

Just wandering what th epoint in daggers is, as swords are more powerful, and you can do the throat slit perk with them. They look cool! and i suppose RP is important , but any other info?

The have the fastest attack speed in the game, and two deadric daggers with the appropriate one-handed perks and elemntal fury can cut down pretty much anything in a few seconds.

I have been able to sneak up on one of the giant Dwarven robots and back stab killing them with one strike. Daggers are the bomb when you have them aligned with the proper perks. It is an assassin thing anyway...

x30 with the Shrouded Gloves
and thats not accounting for what dagger your using or what it may be enchanted with or even what poisons your using. so needless to say daggers are deadly stuff when used by a skilled assassin. i still prefer the bow though.

While we're on the topic of the 30x multiplier has anyone tried to sneak kill a dragon with it assuming they weren't perched up on a cliff or something? Would it be a 1 hit kill do u think?

the point is the sharp tapered end of the blade.

other than that, maybe daggers can be used for... the highest damaging single attack in the game next to a bugged frost spell?

Not sure if it would be possible to ever get close enough to sneak hit a dragon. The only ones that I have ever seen that aren't flying have been perched on top of word walls and the like.

I think they have "true sight" from D&D. Probably you couldn't get close enough.

can you not use swords with that perk?

assains blade perk only works for daggers (x15 dagger damage).
back stab perk is x6 one handed damage.

also not 100% sure on this but i believe dagger attacks are silent and attacks by swords/maces/axes are not.

There is one for other weapons that raises it to 6x (default 3x) and bows can be increased to 3x (default 2x)

Backstabbing. But they are inferior combat weapons in this game since they don't get any specific weapon class perks, outside of the normal 1h perks that add damage. Sure you can enchant them, but they will never crit, never pierce armour, never bleed etc. So yeah they are somewhat balanced in Skyrim. If you consider oneshotting anything in the game with no decent gear required balanced.

They don't feel fast for me. I don't know why.
