Supposedly you can throw armed bear traps at enemies as well. I haven't tried it myself.

I have no idea. It baffles me that they leave a useless spell like Telekinesis in the game while removing so many useful spells. In three TES games, I have only used Telekenis to steal one diamond from an alchemist in Morrowind and to recharge my magicka for a character with the atronach birthsign in Oblivion.

What do you want to use Telekinesis for?

I was sad when I found out that it's basically useless unless you just play with it.

Meh, it gives me an explanation why my character can lift stuff without his hands...

I totally agree!

I used to love Absorb Health in Oblivion. But now it's sadly a vampiric ability.

I've used it quite a few times to steal things, toss things to distract enemies and there have been a few times when I couldn't reach something where it came in handy.

I have been playing the game for over 200 hours now, and I never saw a telekinesis spell anywhere, I thought it wasn't in the game.

It's a really fun and easy way to level up in Alteration, and it might make stealing a tad easier.

Good for stealing things and throwing gems at beggars. I personally like trying to kill a dragon with a kettle.

I use it to steal certain items, like corrundium ore from outside the mine near kynesgrove...I forget the name but I sit in sneak mode far away and tele the ore to me because the damn guards can always detect you near them.

I always thought it's true purpose was opening trapped chests and doors. But the dang lock-pick mini-game is so darn easy in Skyrim that even that is pointless.

How do you throw something with it? After you pick it up and let go does it just shoot out from you?

I know for sure the you could operate doors and chests from afar in MW shame you can't in skyrim lol
Yes you sort of ping them away from you, might make a mod for myself to increase to the damage from flinging things lol.

Yeah, back in MW days when there were many different ways of doing things like opening locked and trapped chests with with picks and probes or with spells, the telekinesis spell made sense. What I don't understand is how more useful spells like dispel, open lock and even waterwalking failed to make the cut but we still have telekinesis.

You have to press the button to make it move away from you and then let go of the object. I have never been able to cause any discernable damage doing it. More of a parlor trick.

Theres telekenisis in the game?! I did wonder why there was'nt. Awesome. Telekenisis is fun. I will get it when I can. You can do some fun things with it on other games. :) In bioshock series you can pick up and throw corpses items etc, throw flaming corpses items ec, pick up the living and kill them and the target with it.
I must try this out.
Which school is it in?

I have only used it to take things off pedestals that were obviously trapped, or to steal thieves quest items from rooms full of people.

I find it disappointing as a master wizard in every school I should be able to use it on dead bodies to hurl them at other people, or use it as a distanced shove to push enemies off edges of buildings, I mean crap even Gandalf used it as a weapon.

Wait a minute, you mean you can't use it to open doors and locks in Skyrim? You got to be kidding me. What the heck is the point of it then?

Can you still pick pocket people from a distance with it?

I remember that when you pointed at things it would be as if you were stood next to, name next to the crosshair. I've not noticed it in skyrim. I've not tried pickpocketing with it.

Nope, just pick stuff up with it  I though it was bugged out when you carry a ebony sword? Having the sword equipped but not out while casting the spell causes it to throw stuff much harder, I'll have to look it up. It is useful for throwing bear traps at people like has been said earlier in the topic, it's grand fun  but you have to be rather close to them to actually hit them.

edit: upon looking, I was unable to find anything about bugging it out, only how to Lv. alteration fast with it.
