What if the vampires vs hunters is not the main quest of Daw

Post » Fri Jun 15, 2012 4:33 pm

I thought about this, mainly because how vanilla Skyrim approaches factions. Factions were their own side story but not the main quest of Skyrim. So I'm thinking it might be the same with Dawnguard and the Vampires. There is still the Mystery of the snow elf prince. Without a doubt he will be in the DLC due to all of the other leaked animations being factual. What do you guys think?

I'm thinking the Snow Elves and stuff will be in the next DLC, maybe called "Hearthfire" because Zenimax trademarked it.

I'm pretty sure this is the main quest for a few reasons:
1. This is the only thing the trailer showed
2. This is all they talked about at E3
3. The dlc is called "dawnguard". Why would they call it that if this was all just a small side quest line?

Dawnguard has been probably done for a month if he is in there they are not just going to take out a plot in the story at the last minute, that makes no sense.

Someone asked him? What did he say?
I must have missed that particular interview, because I don't remember anyone asking him about the snow elves during the E3 interviews I saw.

Todd Howard got very coy when approached about Snow Elves.

He replied with "It is a big DLC", didnt he?
Didnt say yes, didnt say no.

Im still thinking there has to be a reason the trailer showed the PC killing a Falmer.

That would be a bold, and rather hilarious and stupid, move by Bethesda.

I still hope they add new landmass and/or that Soul Cairn is really large.

Morgan Webb asked shyly about Snow Elves, and Todd laughed nervously and said, "Well.. hehe it is a big DLC."
Very coy, Howard... Very coy.

Why is that? They do as they please.

I highly doubt that Soul Cairn will be anywhere near the size of the Shivering Isles, since as far as I know it's only part of the vampire's quest line. I'll have to look further into it, but because it's not the main focus of the DLC (as far as we know) I doubt it'll be anywhere near as big.

I think it is a part of both. You go there to either kill or team up with someone, and it has to do with the sun. Or something...

I hope not, with the hour count being 10-20, if the vampires v dawngaurd is just a side faction/story line, then it will be just as shallow as the other guilds in Skyrim.

If ones takes into account all of the info disclosed at E3, it's extremely hard to believe it is not. Get ready for some major uproar should Vampires vs Hunters not be the main theme.

Or, the Snow Elves are spirits trapped inside of Soul Cairn, so we see some of them but yet, they aren't truly alive per say.

Holds to the fact that all Snow Elves are said to be dead, aside from the Falmer in the old ruins but also allows them to be seen unaltered.

Hearthfire is the name of a month in Tamriel. All Daedra have months they are associated with so perhaps Hearthfire deals with the thieves guild for the Mistress of Shadows, Nocturnal's month in Hearthfire.

Snow elves never left, they've always been around. You just know them as the Falmer. I feel they have had their story fulfilled and need no futher light shed on their miserable existence.

They said the main quest of the DLC is 10-20 hours which is still to be determined. But there will be other side quest too.

If the Snow Prince is still around in some form..it could pave the way for the return of the Snow Elves. Perhaps he's a vampire himself?

Hi Press, to be hones there wasnt much new discovered at E3. Little was shown from Dawnguard, the whole vampire Lord section was filmed in riverwood, and he Soul Cairn was shown a lot in the trailer. My impressions of all of the E3 interviews that Todd had alot to hide. He kept saying there is a lot of content in it though we actually didnt see much.

Maybe the Snow Elf price is the boss of the Soul Cairn. We may even go back in time to see his story with the elder scroll.
