What town should I settle down in?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 1:47 pm

Rolof is a Nord who wanted to leave the city and move to a town.Right now he's in Dragonbridge and he's unhappy with it because of the rudeness to him.So he wants to move somewhere else that will not be rude towards him.Any ideas?

Rorikstead, maybe? Small, quiet, near to Whiterun. Can't think of any rude people off the top of my head. Plenty of dragons and giants, though.

I'm stuck between Rorikstead,Riverwood and Ivarstead.

I always like Riverwood. Close to Whiterun too, plus has two stores and an inn, ideal.

Is this a rp build?

I'm not familiar with Ivarstead, but Rorikstead would be a good home for a farmer. In Riverwood, they could work the mill.

Not really,I've completed the mq and gave all achievments and I want to settle down and only adventure every so often.I'm more of a mill worker than farmer so I think Riverwood should be my choice. Thanks for the reply.

When my character started playing, we set our home in Whiterun. It was a good first home, but it was very cramped and small. I decided that I would like to live in Riften for a change, it felt a bit more alive or something. Also, the house is much nicer. It is nice to now have two homes, although I primarily use my Riften address.

A few days ago, my ally, my horse Buckington the 5th and I decided we wanted to move to Solitude, it just has this mystical charm to it. It reminds me of a couple cities in Oblivion that I enjoy.

Anyway, I took my Amulet of Mara with me in hopes of finding someone nice to settle down with, but so far no luck. My ally keeps showing interest in me, but I'm not sure I want to settle for them just yet. I hear there is some nice property for sale, but so far I haven't found how to get it(don't tell me).

I'm really enjoying Solitude, I have spent the past week getting very bonded with it's surroundings. Lovely place!

Solitude does have tha Imperial city atmosphere.I have all houses and my favourite is Honeyside(Riften).I love having breakfast on the pirch at sunrise then taking a bath in Lake Honrich.I feel the house in solitude is too small for it too be worth 25,000.

So i moved into Hjerim in Windhelm, i love the dark atmosphere there. It fits my mysterious character very well. :D

I agree with you about that!

Holy ****!!! I had no idea it was that much money, that's more than I even have right now. 5,000 for my Riften property was definitely the way to go! I guess I'll have to try to marry someone in Solitude..

The house in Riften is very nice: I like the cute little garden and the fact that you can enter the house from outside of town, not to mention the close vicinity to TG <3 The people and surroundings of Rorikstead are pleasant as well, and Falkreath is very cosy. Windhelm is a bit dull and cold for my taste, although the atmosphere is nordesquely sombre and majestic. (Nevertheless, for the blissfully sentimental person I am, Whiterun will always be home.)

You are all PC users aren't you, because I would love to live in place like Falkreath but there is no place to store your stuff, so...

I love Riverwood. I have a character who lives there in Faendal’s house. It works because he keeps Faendal as a follower.

Nord hmm..? Windhelm, Whiterun, Riverwood, and Ivarstead are I think the most Nord friendly.

Markarth has Forsworn who want the Nords dead from the Reach, Solitude has Imperial HQ which despises the "true sons and daughters of Skyrim." Riften is home of Thieves whom just don't seem like a Nordish feel.

The other smaller cities (Dawnstar, Morthal, Falkreath, and Winterhold) are eh.

I'm not fussed on Windhelm because of the attitude.I've settled down in Riverwood as a smithy apprentice. But I want to continue this topic as what you think is the best place to live.
