What Weapons do you Use?

Post » Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:48 pm

At the moment I'm sticking with Dawnbreaker and a Glass bow (my most recently unlocked Smithing perk). I don't use the sword too much though as I've decided to get heavy into magic 100+ hours into the game (pouring perks into Destruction and Restoration and leveling points into Magicka).

My level 43 Dark Elf uses a pair of Legendary enchanted bows - one deals fire damage and the other deals shock damage. With an Archery skill in the mid 80s, some enchanted gear and all five levels of Overdraw, the bows do 91 base damage each. She also uses an Ebony sword (Flawless) with an Absorb Health enchantment, and a Flawless Ebony mace for soul trapping.

I also have a Level 10 Breton, but she's a mage. She's got a Skyforge Steel sword (a gift from Eorland Grey-Mane) which hasn't been used in battle yet, and a basic Orcish Bow which gets used when her magicka runs out in battle. Once her Conjuration is high enough to take the appropriate perks, she'll soul trap with a Bound Bow. Other than that, she relies heavily on Flame Atronachs and the base Destruction spells (for now, anyway).

I have two ebony war axes, mainly because I hate maces and swords. One has a fire enchantment and the other is plain. And I'm never gonna go to daedric because they do very similar damage with smithing at 100 and one hand at 100, they do same damage.

Either a Glass self improved and enchanted bow (fire enchantment)

or

two one handed weapons, Dawnlight and a self improved and enchanted Ebony war axe.

I prefer to make my own weapons, takes to randomness out of finding a great one.

Daragonbane
Dawnbreaker
An ebony bow with a 2 second soul trap (Soul Seeker)
Finally, a skyforge hand-axe...this one is my favourite. If I could give it +hp against dragons, or make undead explode, I'd ditch the other blades.

Kveykva, my Legendary enchanted Blades sword, is my workhorse for most battles. I'm probably gonna have to sheath it though, when I can access blatently better weapons like Dawnbreaker and the Nightingale Blade. Which is a shame, because I'm kind of attached to the darn thing. Alas, I'm not one for questing, although I really want the Nightingale gear.

Also, I never use an offhand. svck on that, RPG logic. :bunny:

My primary weapons are DawnBreaker and Dragonbane. Each at about 200 damage plus extra to dragons or undead. (Got to love those bonus items to one handed fighting)

I keep Sanguine Rose Staff just for backup fun. Got to love a guy who kicks off with "I spell weakness"

Greatswords. Currently Ebony Greatsword.

When the opposition isn't too tough I use Unarmed (Heavy armor Fists).

Ranulf Iron-Brand (Nord Warrior) has recently taken to reforging the Ancient Nord Weaponry of his people. With the aid of the Skyforge, he's been able to restore them to their former glory!

Character A, who was supposed to be an archer, fell in love with her Elven Bow of Burning. Hadn't thought of naming it. She found it somewhere. Over time she's become more of a sword-and-board type. She smithed a Blades sword to flawless and then enchanted it with fire (only 10 pts, I svck at enchanting). That one needs a name too, I really like it. It makes quick work of Draugr and vampires. Then there's her Mace of M-B. Which makes quick work of everything AND makes the Nord guards nervous (she's a Bosmer). I sometimes have trouble deciding which one to use. Mostly the Mace lately; I have lots of soul gems to fill.

Character B is simpler. Just give her a mace of any kind and she's happy. She probably names them things like Skullsmasher or Mister Bashy. Her current one is a Dwarven Mace of... Something; it absorbs stamina. Very helpful. She gave Jenassa a Dwarven mace too, and they once got a simultaneous finisher animation with them. That ruled.

I get attached to all of my weapons, until I find the next better shiny thing. But I'm probably going to stick with the ones above for quite some time. That Blades sword is just too cool looking, and the Dwarven mace helps the stamina problem that character was having. I may subtly guide her to Molag-Bal, though. She's a Dunmer; it seems appropriate.

I like the Nightingale and Dawnbreaker swords. I have an enchanted sword for filling soul gems but it's an ordinary Elven sword.

Enchantments on weapons are to much of a hassle... I hate having to constantly recharge, thank jebus for no degradation.

War axes ftw

My fav is a bow with soul trap enchantment. I only resort to poisoned daggers for indoors murders.

I tend to stay away from high-tier vanilla weapons as I find their general aesthetics unappealing. I'll use iron and steel for a while before eventually moving up to swords from Jaysus' mod. My favorite from that bunch would have to be the "Fine Iron Sword" though.

I started out using magic for like the first mission... then i got a bow... and ive been using it ever since im up to level 94 archery... i love using it... its my fav weapon and i never really liked swords or greats,

Back in Oblivion when i was ina cave youd have to use a sword otherwise you'd die... but archery in skyrim is so much better... and plus the arrows dont cost in weight

I love sneak long ranging... and one shot kills

Its my weapon of choice and i getting more and more better at it... my long range is getting alot better with like a 85% hit rate... and my running and shooting is about 20-30% :( need more practice in that

For armour i have like a expert mage clothes in destruction at magic recharge of 125%, light boots to help carry weight at 25 points, and jewelery to help health recharge and magic

My armour rating is very low... coz my enemies usually die in 1 shot (i perked it all up... and i have two other items that give my archery more bonus)

Also when watching playthroughs on youtube... i cant stand it... coz everyone uses swords and i hate that
