Yes, New vegas had bugs, so what, some folk seem to have forgotten all the damn bugs with FO3!!
Get real people, for Pete's sake.
New Vegas is amazing, I loved FO3 to bits, but New Vegas is much better: hard core/food, much better quests, the "NPC Wheel", the way it's a more dymanic/believable world with the factions etc
Only issues I have are the generally poor texturing of NPC faces (same with FO3 though) and don't like how they won't make a DLC for AFTER the Battle at Hoover Dam: Broken Steel was the best FO3 DLC, after all (followed by Point Lookout for enjoyment terms)
So, who or what is perfect, eh? Enjoy the damn wonderful game, jeesh!
As someone who recalls such horrendously bugged games as Elite 3: First Encounters (which was almost unplayable and thus why most folk have never heard of it, hehe), I find the whining about FO3 bugs laughable
This is the era of the Internet, we get "Bug fixes" direct, back in the day you had to wait until a bug fix came out on a magazine disc IF you were lucky!
games are one of the few things I can do nowdays, so yes, bugs are thus a real pain in the ass for me, but like, would folk kindly keep them in proportion? They are NOT freakin' 30' high tsunamis...or tornadoes or whatever horrible things that REALLY ruin yer life are worth crying about.
and Obsidian has made a much better game with New Vegas, as your actions have way more meaning, the world is not so "unaffected" by what you do etc. And as said, I loved FO3, played it a hell of a lot, FOOk2 mod really improved it
All four Fallout games, IMHO, have been amongst the best and most influential games, ever.
The humour, the pathos of the story and characters, the huge open scope of #2, #3 and #4...wow!
For example, the "Survivalist's" story in Honest hearts is great piece of writing, tragedy and honour, what a great change from the cheap crap the TV is full of!
You can play these games for MONTHS, how many TV shows, books etc have that appeal?
Be very damn greatful for what you have, folks, instead of whining, it's ungreatful as hell. I want Obsidian to keep making more of these games, we owe these creative people a LOT, and I o do NOT want 'em to get put off! Any of you know how freakin' hard it is to be creative in the face of such ? :/
Heck I sitll need ot get back to my Fallout 2 game after I've been through this run of New Vegas, and look how many folk in Obsidian worked on Fallout 2, which I hope most of you can admit to being the great game it is?
So, thank you very much Obsidian folks, just don't leave so many bugs in the next release, and work on the facial texturing !
and for anyone dumb enough to think I'm a shil working for Obsidian...yeah and I work for Vault-Tec, too, and yer all part of a social experiment in psychological torture, duh!!
And if I could work any more and had real talent (and it's a nix to both of those), I'd love to be able to work with folks like Obsidian, who with half a brain would not?! I've been playing their games for about 14 years, think I still have my original Fallout 1 manual, hehe.
