What's with the crows

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:59 am

I might end making myself sound (and feel) extremely dumb, but do the crows serve any purpose?

They also add some false-positives to your tracking radar, so you have to keep looking around to see if something's around.

You know... I was wondering the same thing. I've avoided shooting them since they show up as friendly on the radar, although I've thought about it. Do they yield any meat/feathers/anything that could be useful at a campfire?

Its called, immersion, atmosphere, realism, ambiance, do we even need to ask this question? Lets be thankfull devs are paying attention to details that pull is into the world even more.

Atmosphere... I was rather surprised that you can hit them and they blow up.

(Funny though, since birds and cats are supposed to be extinct)

Chillax, pretty sure the OP was just asking if they served a MORE significant purpose, considering they serve as false positives on the radar.

We are very thankful.

I wish they'd done something like making the crow's bars a neutral color like white instead of green I keep going over to where I see a green bar to see if there's an NPC and then the green bar disappears when the crow flies away. It exposes me to enemy fire unnecessarily.

Why are these the one creature in the world that hasn't been mutated beyond reasonable recognition?

They're there to continually make you go "Oh, there's someone over there I might get a quest from... no, wait, it's just another damn bird"

At least that's the only purpose they serve for me.

It's probably because the only birds in F3 were the buzzard things, and you never saw them on the ground. And they were a svck to shoot.

Since when are birds supposed to be extinct? The common house cat I know off, but all birds?

Actually, they are mutated parakeets from the nation's pet stores. Instead of irritating you with random chirps, they irritate your PipBoy.
