What Would Skyrim Be...

Post » Sun Jun 24, 2012 5:48 am

If Bethesda and Obsidian worked together to make the game as a whole?

In what parts of the game do you feel would be better than they are now?
What parts would be worse?
Would things go missing or would things be added?

I feel Skyrim may have been a smaller in size game (maybe remove a portion of a region or two), but would have a hardcoe Mode, Reputation System, Combat and Skill balanced better, and much better stories with better dialogue.

Thoughts?

I think it would've taken a step back.

We'd have invisible walls, actual guild quests instead of the crap bethesda wrote, beyter magic, an actual useful speech skill, a forced ending, a decent main quest.

It depends on how the workload was partitioned between the two parties. If all dialogue, balance, quest design, and writing, were handed to Obsidian, and the rest given to Bethesda...it may have been a far superior game.

Except maybe you.

Was NV really buggy?

I've had dramatically less glitches with NV than I do with Skyrim. (PS3 user)

I would like to see Bethesda lead development while Obsidian does story in collaboration with Bethesda's writers.

Or have Obsidian do DLC.

Just think of the Skyrim gore

That was one thing I didn't like about Skyrim was that you aren't able to cut limbs off people.

I mean, why did they limit it at decapitation and not keep going?

Would've been nice to see cinematic bow shots too.

Weapon degradation and more unique perks. I am ok with the perk system as it is, but I think it would be fun to have more Fallout-esque perks.

I'd hope they take what Obsidian does well (stories, quests, and characters) and mix that with the world that Bethesda created for Skyrim and the mechanics of the game.
